worst Drake song on the radio this year

"Successful" seems to be the most boring, but I haven't heard any of the last three yet.

"Successful" has some pretty pompous lyrics that make it hard for me to totally enjoy but the beat and overall vibe are kind of cool and always sound striking in the context of a radio playlist, imo easily the 2nd best song here after "Every Girl"

dunno, personally i find kanye's actual non-issues add up to the same zero at the end of the day. i think it's moreso drake's nominal superiority as a singer that works against him in comparison to kanye on his 808s material - on an immediate level there's a workable grain in kanye's lack of r&b finesse.

It was, if anything, an honest portrayal of the emotions one often feels after a break-up ("It's your fault," "You're a bitch and a slut," "You're never going to find anyone who will treat you as good as I did," "Fuck you, once again, you slut"), even if these emotions are emotions we're taught not to externalize, especially on pop songs. They might be asshole things to say, but if he really felt them, why shouldn't he include them in his song? I think they added to the sense that 'Ye really was hit hard, and this was the way he reacted. It was a portrait of a really brief period after a break-up before, you know, distance and insight occur (whether that ever did occur for Kanye is another matter).

The song sounds like a goofier version of "Roses" (sonically, not in subject matter; there you'd have to look more at songs like "Prototype") with rhymes written by Lupe Fiasco; ergo, what I am saying is that it is drawing sonically and thematically on different parts of The Love Below filtered very strongly through songwriting sensibilities represented by Lupe Fiasco on tracks like "Superstar", all packaged together in something more harmless and radio-friendly.

It strikes me as mostly harmless, which is why I don't get the outright antipathy leveled towards it (whereas with someone like Drake I totally get why everyone here hates him, because he is offensively terrible).
