though i don't think suarez deserves inclusion when even the most marginal name (aguero) is younger but still has greater proven record as a cf
― Nilmar Honorato da Silva, Saturday, 13 April 2013 00:36 (eleven years ago) link
yeah fronting on aguero is p lame tbh i know but he does have a kind of indifference to him idk
suspect cavani might be "secretly" best and would win this poll next year with his new team
― r|t|c, Saturday, 13 April 2013 00:37 (eleven years ago) link
i guess cos even last season when he wasnt injured and bossing it aguero just seemed like a nice bloke who was patiently getting on with it for a team he wasnt rly too bothered about
in a way i guess that should inspire more awe rather than less but eh everyone likes a bit of heroism innit (falcao)
― r|t|c, Saturday, 13 April 2013 00:41 (eleven years ago) link
he is a spectacular player but has been subdued by injury and the general inertia of the team this season
his career up to his current age (24) easily outstrips any of the others
tempted to vote ibrahimovic even
― Nilmar Honorato da Silva, Saturday, 13 April 2013 00:45 (eleven years ago) link
Tevez tho

deeply sad that villa could have drifted so far out of this conversation since the first poll

Good point, wheres benteke
― privilege as 'me me me' (darraghmac), Saturday, 13 April 2013 00:47 (eleven years ago) link
villa a few years ago was possibly slightly better than any of the others are now
it's not really working for him on the wings having lost a little speed but he looked dangerous played as a #9 vs milan and could still score 25 a season played there regularly for a slightly lesser team
― Nilmar Honorato da Silva, Saturday, 13 April 2013 00:51 (eleven years ago) link
remy has knocked in finishes for us deserving of this company tbrr
― r|t|c, Saturday, 13 April 2013 01:04 (eleven years ago) link
Would anyone vote for Tevez as the best CF in the world? I mean really?
It's probably either Cavani or Falcao but I've seen Aguero do more amazing shit than any of them.
― Matt DC, Saturday, 13 April 2013 10:11 (eleven years ago) link
Pretty challopy not to include Lewandowski though. He's not the best but should be in the running.
― Matt DC, Saturday, 13 April 2013 10:14 (eleven years ago) link
Carlos Tevez is a professional footballer who plays as a forward for Manchester City FC.
― privilege as 'me me me' (darraghmac), Saturday, 13 April 2013 10:20 (eleven years ago) link
Slightly perplexed that this really is all there is. I'd have Benzema top if he showed to his proper ability regularly, but you could say that about Balotelli too. As it is I'm picking Falcao.
― Ismael Klata, Saturday, 13 April 2013 11:04 (eleven years ago) link
No wait, Zlatan
Falcao has inspired the best ilf post , so him. Not a big Cavani fan.

idk, i only mentioned tevez (and the less extreme examples of suarez and drogba) cos i was thinking less in terms of who will affect a whole season and more wrt if you had to bet all your chips on one player to make an impact in a one-off match. ibra opposites basically
― r|t|c, Saturday, 13 April 2013 12:03 (eleven years ago) link
Yeah but arguing along those lines you could end up arguing for the inclusion of TWP as well and no one (here anyway) thinks he's up there any more.
I mean City's best season was the one without Tevez in the team and he was never that player for United either. Aguero beats him by every conceivable metric bar a kind of dogged persistence which is admittedly very effective.
― Matt DC, Saturday, 13 April 2013 12:16 (eleven years ago) link
You couldnt argue for rooney along any lines

It's only the Premiership he's playing in, it's easy to score a hatful there, look at Suarez
― Tom D (Tom D.), Saturday, 13 April 2013 12:50 (eleven years ago) link
idk tevez was terrifically misused at utd and this is p much obvious. He's been excellent for city when he plays. His scoring record for city is p equal to aguero's.
― privilege as 'me me me' (darraghmac), Saturday, 13 April 2013 12:53 (eleven years ago) link
I mean in his time at utd i had him pegged as a good honest trier too yknow but that's what four years and 70 goals ago

Colombian news agency Noticias Unos uncovered primary school documentation that listed Falcao's birthday as February 10, 1984 - two years before his FIFA listed birth date of February 10, 1986.
Further documents indicated Falcao had undergone 'pre-school transition' (a program for five-year-olds), a practice that was abandoned before 1991.
Documents from one of Falcao's primary schools, Colegio San Pedro Claver de Bucaramanga, also suggest the former Porto forward was born in San Martin, not Bogota. The evidence is accompanied by a photograph of a boy who would appear to have at least a passing resemblance to the player.
Contacted by Noticias Unos, Falcao's father blamed a clerical error on the part of the school for the confusion, insisting his son was born in 1986. Reporters also tracked down Falcao's grandmother, who could confirm he was born on February 10 but struggled to remember which year.

aleksandar mitrovic at anderlecht is my new eastern european centra forward prospect du jour, hench and purposive in a boksic sort of way though not quick as quick

Mitrovic is very good. Kramaric at Rijeka also looks an excellent prospect, albeit slightly older.

alcacer was one of those players who was hyped even before he had played professionally, then sort of drifted off, then suddenly broke through very quickly and has already been capped, notices about how he suits the spanish not better than costa

not that he is anywhere near costas level at the moment but as much as a shithead as he is, the spanish are really snobby about him and probably love the idea of stealing him from brazil and then dropping him

Most controversial omission of the night was Anderlecht's Alex Mitrovic. The 20-year-old striker turned up to pre-season training overweight and has struggled for form since, enduring criticism from fans and media. Despite being Anderlecht's record signing, he was dropped to the bench on Wednesday night, rather like Adel Taarabt.

5 in 11 so not struggling too badlynot sure negging their big predatory serb is the best tactic on anderlecht's part

Kramaric hattrick vs Feyenoord today. Not sure how much he'd cost at this point but he's likely to end up somewhere better than Fulham, the last English club linked with him.
