Howie doesn't have a laptop of his own but can use a trackpad, mouse, and iPhone as well as any adult. He's only allowed on the CBeebies website though - banned Youtube after he came across some seemingly innocuous Pingu clips which had been treated with some very dubious Portuguese overdubbing. Screen time is strictly limited though and he won't be getting a TV or laptop in his room for many years.

loool

my 2 year old just watched TV in our house for the first time. i cued up a bugs bunny cartoon so he would sit still for a haircut. for the next two days he was like "more bugs bunny?"

poops, what does he do w/the iphone and whatever? there's a pretty cool abstract color "game" on my iphone that we play sometimes but otherwise i'm not sure what he'd even do with it

I remember Amber going from "laughing uproariously" at the Teletubbies at age 6 months, to "They just do the same things over and over again!" at age three.

My kid's 7. He has an HP touch-screen, which he mainly uses for games and the internet (for netflix streaming and cartoon network). I had a hard time with this at first and kept calling it "mommy's computer" and they'd both correct me.

He has a hand-me-down cell phone from his mother that we put in his backpack when we take him places so if we ever get separated, he can just call us. This has never happened, but really puts our minds at ease. He used to like playing video game demos on our phones until he accidentally bought one and now he's got a temp ban on that sort of thing.

We gave him a small ipod shuffle that my wife used to have, but he doesn't use it much.

Tracer, there are some great kids apps out there. Tozzle is fab, Games created by Toddler Teasers, MyCar is just a fun making pictures kind of thing, lunchbox is fun though you may need to help him play bits of that. There's a couple of peppa pig game apps too!
