Wait a minute, Tracer...are you using speakers as the legs of a table back there in that pic? What kind of environment are you bringing this poor child up in?

Michael Jones, Friday, 16 January 2009 14:55 (eight years ago) Permalink

Speaker as the legs for a turntable. Keeping it real!

Michael I didn't even really notice how nice that photo was until you "favorited" it, which thrilled me given how nice your own photos always come out.

schwantz, is it true identical twins happen randomly and non-identical only happen for people with the twin making gene?

tacos, fettucini, linguini, martini, bikini. (sunny successor), Monday, 19 January 2009 14:49 (eight years ago) Permalink

or more commonly these days those who fuck w/science

ice cr?m, Monday, 19 January 2009 14:53 (eight years ago) Permalink

Identical twins are random, or so they say. The mechanism (random splitting of zygote) is much different than for fraternal twins (two eggs released at once). I think that there is a "release-more-than-one-egg-at-a-time" gene. My wife is in SFPOM (parents of multiples), and almost everyone other than us has fraternal twins as the result of some kind of fertility treatment or in-vitro procedure.

schwantz, Monday, 19 January 2009 18:37 (eight years ago) Permalink

How do you get them to hike with you? Trying to walk anywhere with Howie is impossible -- he just goes round and round in circles, or gets fixated on a pile of stones and won't leave, or wants to dig for worms, or gets startled (particularly by dogs) and demands to be carried. He is fine as long as you don't have a destination, but trying to get from A to B? Forget it...

Meg (Meg Busset), Monday, 19 January 2009 21:21 (eight years ago) Permalink

That's what Owen was doing in that picture. I dunno, I guess we just take our time, carry them a bit, etc. That hike goes from point A to point wherever, and then back to point A, so if we sense them getting worn out, we just turn around...

Since being in Tokyo, they've really hit it off. They really play together which is the "awesomest" thing ever. So so so cute. Until they fight over a toy of course. hah
