I have never experienced thundersnow. It makes me think of the Thundercats theme song.

What about last night at around 3 AM? The thunder was weird-sounding, at least to my sleepy mind. It sounded like radio sound effects--like a sheet of metal being shaken.

i woke me up then the sleet or hail or whatever the fuck was going on out there started coming down and i kind of drifted in and out of sleep until my alarm clock went off. at which time i fell dead asleep.

chicago kevin, Thursday, 1 March 2007 15:42 (seventeen years ago) link

i woke me up? it (the thunder) woke me up.

chicago kevin, Thursday, 1 March 2007 15:42 (seventeen years ago) link

It woke me up just enough to think, "Hey, thunderstorm! Cool!" And then roll over and continue to sleep like the dead.

kenan, Thursday, 1 March 2007 15:46 (seventeen years ago) link

Haha, I was just thinking of M.O.T.O. the other day when someone quoted that mid-90s dance hit "When I dip you dip we dip" because it always reminds me of M.O.T.O.'s "I do the dip when there's cum on the dancefloor."

Whoa, it's totally March, isn't it? I think I might have a birthday party on Saturday the 24th. Save the date, etc.

jaymc, Thursday, 1 March 2007 15:48 (seventeen years ago) link

It's TOTALLY March.

n/a, Thursday, 1 March 2007 15:51 (seventeen years ago) link

kenan, Thursday, 1 March 2007 15:52 (seventeen years ago) link

kenan, Thursday, 1 March 2007 15:58 (seventeen years ago) link

Ha ha, John said Kenan's mom is a babe.

n/a, Thursday, 1 March 2007 15:58 (seventeen years ago) link

Awkward.

n/a, Thursday, 1 March 2007 15:58 (seventeen years ago) link

Literally, a babe. There are pictures, right?

Laurel, Thursday, 1 March 2007 15:58 (seventeen years ago) link

BLOOPER

n/a, Thursday, 1 March 2007 15:58 (seventeen years ago) link

Actually, he said she was a butta babe.

n/a, Thursday, 1 March 2007 15:59 (seventeen years ago) link

I don't know what that means, but it sounds dirty.

n/a, Thursday, 1 March 2007 15:59 (seventeen years ago) link

she was a babe when she was 20.

kenan, Thursday, 1 March 2007 15:59 (seventeen years ago) link

kenan on Thursday, March 1, 2007 9:36 AM (23 minutes ago)

jaymc, Thursday, 1 March 2007 15:59 (seventeen years ago) link

i don't have pics on me, but there's a great one with her in a sun dress and long, long, purty hair and posing with a white horse. It's awesome.

kenan, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:00 (seventeen years ago) link

john, that post belonged on ken c's disgusting thread. should have stayed there.

kenan, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:01 (seventeen years ago) link

ok, john -- i got a job for ya. Go find an unfairly locked thread from days of yore and see if nu-code will let you post on it again.

kenan, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:04 (seventeen years ago) link

Just for John: CTA prez Frank Kruesi rumored to be on the chopping block.

n/a, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:04 (seventeen years ago) link

if my calculations are correct, this should work just fine, and we can spend all day posting to threads that were previously deemed unworthy of more posting.

kenan, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:06 (seventeen years ago) link

I had a temp job in 311 S. Wacker once. It was horrible, I quit after one day.

dan m, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:06 (seventeen years ago) link

Kruesi is definitely out. He better damn well be. I think there will be vigilante justice if he's not.

kenan, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:07 (seventeen years ago) link

Come to think of it, all my temp jobs were on Wacker Drive. 311 South, 28x South, and 111 East.

dan m, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:08 (seventeen years ago) link

I don't actually care about Kruesi. I just wanted to read Kenan's secret thread.

jaymc, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:10 (seventeen years ago) link

Also, I don't remember any locked threads.

Sorry I re-posted that post of yours, Kenan. It was too rich not to.

jaymc, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:12 (seventeen years ago) link

I know, I was just yanking your chain.

n/a, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:13 (seventeen years ago) link

it killed the thread, that's for sure.

kenan, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:13 (seventeen years ago) link

Also, I don't remember any locked threads.

*gasp*

YOU DON'T REMEMBER?

kenan, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:14 (seventeen years ago) link

nevermind

they're still locked.

kenan, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:18 (seventeen years ago) link

but again, that would have been cool.

kenan, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:20 (seventeen years ago) link

anyway I think keith fixed your unclickable thread yesterday, he's going to correct the lack of "no message/title/poll options/etc" errors at some point, yes at some point images may be replaced with links, yes at some point replacing images with links might become the default because of the logoff issue, yes at some point the logoff issue with the cookies might be fixed. but since not many people are as hot shit as keith and he already knows all the inner workings it pretty much depends on him and what he decides to implement when.

CHILX ALL STAR JAM

Jordan, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:53 (seventeen years ago) link

HEY BROS: So I had this idea that next weekend, while Sarah is out of town, I would work on a giant 10-15 minute long song, and get my friends to contribute various parts to it, including you guys. Now there is talk of a new ILX compilation. Would anyone be interested in working on an all-star CHILX collabo song for the ILX comp? It wouldn't really have to be good or anything. Just fun.

n/a, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:54 (seventeen years ago) link

Jordan beat me to it.

n/a, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:54 (seventeen years ago) link

It could be like "We are the world." Or even a cover of "We are the world."

n/a, Thursday, 1 March 2007 16:55 (seventeen years ago) link

Or "(What's So Funny 'bout) Beef, Love and Understanding."

Ok, this dude in my office is simply astonishing. He tells the most long-winded, boring-ass stories you can imagine. They're not even stories. One of his favorite things to do is to recount the entire plot of a TV show he saw one time. I am not even kidding. These tales could go on for 10 minutes or more. But here's the amazing thing: he doesn't notice that you're bored. You can sigh, or not make eye contact, or whatever you usually do to subtly express a lack of interest, and he doesn't get it. I crack jokes about it sometimes, like, "Oh, but I bet we're going to hear all about it, aren't we!" Like, hey, all in good fun, but srsly dude, shut up. He doesn't get that, either. He tells the story anyway. I know more about what happened on Desperate Housewives over the last month than I ever cared to. If I cared, I WOULD HAVE WATCHED THE FUCKING SHOW. I am now leaning toward hostility when he gets started. I just outright ignore him. Outright. And sometimes I say, "I'm sorry, I wasn't listening." And he's all like, "That's ok. So what I was saying was..." A minute ago I walked out of the room, just rudely walked out without a word. And when I came back, HE PICKED UP WHERE HE LEFT OFF. IT IS ASTONISHING, I TELL YOU.
