All drink and no sleep make Trayce something something.

Dont mind if I do!

*falls asleep*

C.R.E.P.E (Trayce), Tuesday, 22 June 2010 00:33 (thirteen years ago) link

...that made sense before I typed it out I swear.

C.R.E.P.E (Trayce), Tuesday, 22 June 2010 00:33 (thirteen years ago) link

lool

stupid cat developing bladder problems the day before my rental inspection. spent all evening sailing the seas of wees

fat preston (electricsound), Tuesday, 22 June 2010 00:36 (thirteen years ago) link

Mine vommed a gigantic pile of steak fat that I stupidly fed her, all over my bedroom rug. And then I trod in it :(

C.R.E.P.E (Trayce), Tuesday, 22 June 2010 00:39 (thirteen years ago) link

that really is the worst

especially with bare feet

fat preston (electricsound), Tuesday, 22 June 2010 00:43 (thirteen years ago) link

Yeah. Bare feet AND drunk. Cleaning that up in my state at midnight was a challenge, I tell you. I think I just ended up covering the rug in carpet shampoo (after I cleaned the gunk up obv) and vaguely sloshing it about.

Good thing I dont have children.

C.R.E.P.E (Trayce), Tuesday, 22 June 2010 00:49 (thirteen years ago) link

I took up a pair of suit pants on Sunday night after consuming two bottles of wine. I did a surprisingly good job apart from the fact I used purple cotton...they were not purple pants.

Kate, Tuesday, 22 June 2010 01:20 (thirteen years ago) link

were they green? with blue or black it might look sort of alright

fat preston (electricsound), Tuesday, 22 June 2010 01:22 (thirteen years ago) link

They were black but hemming pants in purple thread is not kosher for public servants I don't think.

Kate, Tuesday, 22 June 2010 01:27 (thirteen years ago) link

I think if I sewed drunk I'd just merrily sew my fingers together and likely not even notice.

C.R.E.P.E (Trayce), Tuesday, 22 June 2010 01:27 (thirteen years ago) link

It is probably the one advantage of being rather overweight. I seem to be able to put away vast quantities of booze with few side effects.

Kate, Tuesday, 22 June 2010 01:31 (thirteen years ago) link

I'm excited because I've booked a huge skip bin and it's arriving on Friday. That's how I know I've become old.

Kate, Tuesday, 22 June 2010 06:08 (thirteen years ago) link

oh man that would rock, the amount of skipworthy stuff i have round the house..

kilgour's chronic (electricsound), Tuesday, 22 June 2010 06:09 (thirteen years ago) link

I just discovered a group of silverfish having a party in a pile of NMEs dating back to 1996. Also, hayfever like you wouldn't believe.

Kate, Tuesday, 22 June 2010 06:16 (thirteen years ago) link

Heh I found all my old NMEs last move. Cat had shredded most of em :(

I think my oldest one is from about 1986? It has Fuzzbox on the front cover.

C.R.E.P.E (Trayce), Tuesday, 22 June 2010 06:30 (thirteen years ago) link

Whoa, I thought I was doing well with a Babylon Zoo cover! I think I found some kind of crusty crispy man rag too. Ewwwww.

Kate, Tuesday, 22 June 2010 06:32 (thirteen years ago) link

ewwwwww!

C.R.E.P.E (Trayce), Tuesday, 22 June 2010 06:41 (thirteen years ago) link

Better than the last time we moved and I found a Radiohead t-shirt with dried mouldy vomit on it behind the washing machine.

Kate, Tuesday, 22 June 2010 06:44 (thirteen years ago) link

Oh I was wondering where I left that.

C.R.E.P.E (Trayce), Tuesday, 22 June 2010 07:06 (thirteen years ago) link

my 2nd-oldest NME: Lester Bangs on the road with the Clash, 1978

dyaon't (sic), Tuesday, 22 June 2010 07:31 (thirteen years ago) link

You win.

Kate, Tuesday, 22 June 2010 07:45 (thirteen years ago) link

I can't remember the older one, but I'm pretty sure I've got one more tattered than that. Next is something like Julian Cope on a yellow background in 1981.

dyaon't (sic), Tuesday, 22 June 2010 08:04 (thirteen years ago) link

Yo ho ho.

C.R.E.P.E (Trayce), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 01:45 (thirteen years ago) link

I have a Rolling Stone somewhere with Jackson Brown on the cover ~1985 I think.

Obvs I didn't buy it from the newsagents.

A Picture Where Dorian's Gay (S-), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 01:49 (thirteen years ago) link

why, is he nude?

kilgour's chronic (electricsound), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 01:49 (thirteen years ago) link

oh right the whole being extremely young thing

kilgour's chronic (electricsound), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 01:53 (thirteen years ago) link

That confused me for a bit, cos I was like "but 1985 isnt that long ago, I was 15 then... oh shit."

/lolold.

C.R.E.P.E (Trayce), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 01:54 (thirteen years ago) link

yeah, the majority of my NMEs and MMs were bought cheaper later from 2nd hand record shops, even a reasonable proportion of the mid-90s ones. I have huuuuundreds though.

dyaon't (sic), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 02:31 (thirteen years ago) link

inc every Xmas NME from 1986 to something insane like 2002

dyaon't (sic), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 02:32 (thirteen years ago) link

all mine (late '88 til '03ish) were fresh from the news stand. but as you all know they are all in the recycling bin in the sky now

kilgour's chronic (electricsound), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 02:35 (thirteen years ago) link

They arent worth shit anyway, rite? ISTR you saying so - I think Rare Rec's had boxes of that kind of stuff they never shifted.

C.R.E.P.E (Trayce), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 03:26 (thirteen years ago) link

yeah i was all prepared to donate the bunch to some rec store or another but they weren't interested. i think particular editions sell ok (like the kurt suicide cover which i still have) but most are totally worthless

kilgour's chronic (electricsound), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 03:28 (thirteen years ago) link

on a separate note, if any of the usual drunx want to join me i will be @ 3mpr3ss tonite..

kilgour's chronic (electricsound), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 04:23 (thirteen years ago) link

i blame the nme for the 2000 cd singles i will never be able to sell

kilgour's chronic (electricsound), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 04:24 (thirteen years ago) link

dudes keep it under your hats for the moment as it's a surprise...

but I just bought a vuvuzela

A Picture Where Dorian's Gay (S-), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 04:25 (thirteen years ago) link

the writing was the reason for buying, not the bands

dyaon't (sic), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 04:26 (thirteen years ago) link

well yes but the writing was kind of a means to an end, not like i would have bought it if it was all metal bands or summat

surprise for who? are you guesting with y1s on sunday?? xpost

kilgour's chronic (electricsound), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 04:32 (thirteen years ago) link

tbh I am listening to the 15-minute version of Fifteen Minutes Of Fame by Sheep On Drugs as I type, so clearly I'll listen to anything I pretended to myself to like back then anyway

dyaon't (sic), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 04:34 (thirteen years ago) link

it's really only the britpop also-rans i truly regret. 88-93 still holds up to me

kilgour's chronic (electricsound), Wednesday, 23 June 2010 04:36 (thirteen years ago) link

yeah, I meant to put a caveat about the quality of the writing falling off* in the Steve Sutherland era too. that Ben Willmot who took over the dance section in the big beat era was so aggravating, I still get angry thinking about his How To Recreate Coldcut's Journeys By DJ three-step guide.

*and then falling harder and faster towards the end of the decade

Barabbas 5:17 and thus he spake: laugh not at the goth within thy midst, for are you not truly laughing at the goth within your heart?
