RJG (RJG), Friday, 4 March 2005 04:07 (nineteen years ago) link

My lengthy commentary on this poster/flyer has been lost.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Friday, 4 March 2005 11:44 (nineteen years ago) link

Do Glasgow know that Mr Ailsa actually got the job upthread? Hurrah for (1) mr ailsa and (2) miss madchen for mentioning it to us in the first place? Hurrah!!!

Glasgow, let's go out for a meal. Or a pint. Or something.

ailsa (ailsa), Friday, 4 March 2005 19:46 (nineteen years ago) link

Oh, well done Mr. Ailsa and Madchen!

Cathy (Cathy), Saturday, 5 March 2005 00:14 (nineteen years ago) link

Which White Town track will you be playing?

KeithW (kmw), Saturday, 5 March 2005 00:23 (nineteen years ago) link

I only mention it because I remember a long time ago I did a club at the Potterrow and I had "Age of Chance" on the flyer. A friend of mine pointed out that I might as well have put "Age of Chance: Kiss" on it.

KeithW (kmw), Saturday, 5 March 2005 00:27 (nineteen years ago) link

ally and I both have the LP, with "your woman" on it, and, apparently, they will be playing the full length, of both copies, on loop, during the whole night and for a week, leading up to it, out of sync, by 1.5 seconds.

RJG (RJG), Saturday, 5 March 2005 02:12 (nineteen years ago) link

If you're ever in Wolfits cafe on Rose Street, Edinburgh, check out the door chimes; they sound like "Your Woman". Alternatively, they sound like when Darth Vader turns up on the scene in the Empire Strikes Back.

KeithW (kmw), Saturday, 5 March 2005 11:40 (nineteen years ago) link

I have that White Town album too: can they use a third copy?

Mooro (Mooro), Saturday, 5 March 2005 12:55 (nineteen years ago) link

It is a good album.

Ally C (Ally C), Sunday, 6 March 2005 03:04 (nineteen years ago) link

I wish PJM's commentary hadn't been lost!!

RJG (RJG), Monday, 7 March 2005 12:47 (nineteen years ago) link

Ailsa, when hubby gets home, ask him if his new co-workers instigated a 'coincidental' conversation about Neighbours today.

Madchen (Madchen), Monday, 7 March 2005 13:16 (nineteen years ago) link

!!!!!!!

RJG (RJG), Monday, 7 March 2005 13:18 (nineteen years ago) link

I do not know White Town, unless it is that group where in the video the singer's butterfly tattoos turn into real butterflies.

Amongst other things, the commentary was about ospreys and fish eagles in general. I am quite glad it got lost.

Well done, Mr Ailsa.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:06 (nineteen years ago) link

that's crazy

RJG (RJG), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:47 (nineteen years ago) link

Thank you.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:48 (nineteen years ago) link

I'll try to put them on the next poster.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 7 March 2005 14:55 (nineteen years ago) link

Splendid!

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 7 March 2005 15:05 (nineteen years ago) link

RJG (RJG), Monday, 7 March 2005 15:28 (nineteen years ago) link

I wasn't kidding. I was a bit surprised though.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 7 March 2005 15:33 (nineteen years ago) link

jed_ (jed), Monday, 7 March 2005 15:38 (nineteen years ago) link

jed_ (jed), Monday, 7 March 2005 15:39 (nineteen years ago) link

the winchester should play hongroe, I maintain.

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 7 March 2005 15:54 (nineteen years ago) link

White Town, mostly (only?) famous for 1997 worldwide hit "Your Woman", see

http://www.whitetown.co.uk/

Mooro (Mooro), Monday, 7 March 2005 16:11 (nineteen years ago) link

I missed that one, in 1997.

When I say real butterflies, I mean realler than the ones in the tattoos, but not actually real, still pretend.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Monday, 7 March 2005 16:43 (nineteen years ago) link

Come, my lady.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 7 March 2005 18:23 (nineteen years ago) link

come, come, my lady.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 7 March 2005 18:30 (nineteen years ago) link

Ailsa, when hubby gets home, ask him if his new co-workers instigated a 'coincidental' conversation about Neighbours today.

He says "ha ha very good" so I take it that was a yes :)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 7 March 2005 19:35 (nineteen years ago) link

You're my butterfly.

Ally C (Ally C), Monday, 7 March 2005 19:52 (nineteen years ago) link

sugar.

RJG (RJG), Monday, 7 March 2005 20:01 (nineteen years ago) link

I got a promotion!

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 10 March 2005 11:05 (nineteen years ago) link

Yay Madchen!

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 10 March 2005 11:33 (nineteen years ago) link

Would anyone fancy a post-work celbratory FAP this evening? I am open to suggest re. pub.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 10 March 2005 13:05 (nineteen years ago) link

Well done. Did you get your actuals looked at? If that is what they were called.

PJ Miller (PJ Miller), Thursday, 10 March 2005 13:15 (nineteen years ago) link

Congrats Madchen ;0)

smee (smee), Thursday, 10 March 2005 13:20 (nineteen years ago) link

I am dying of flu, or would otherwise be amenable to pub-going. Maybe tomorrow, or at the weekend, we could go out and drink some booze, if you want. But not today, as I am malingering away from work so shouldn't be venturing up town, even if I didn't feel like shite.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 10 March 2005 13:23 (nineteen years ago) link

well done, madchen!

was the last time I saw you really when chris & vicky were up?!

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 10 March 2005 13:27 (nineteen years ago) link

I think so, Cozen.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 10 March 2005 13:30 (nineteen years ago) link

CCA, 6pm, Tonight.

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 10 March 2005 16:29 (nineteen years ago) link

I will try!

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 10 March 2005 16:32 (nineteen years ago) link

Boo. That's three invitations to the pub I've had today. No-one ever asks me to go anywhere, and now that I can't, they're all falling over themselves to get me to go out.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 10 March 2005 16:36 (nineteen years ago) link

Saturday Winchester?

Madchen (Madchen), Thursday, 10 March 2005 16:59 (nineteen years ago) link

I may be getting two whales in a ka, on friday, unfortunately.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 10 March 2005 17:29 (nineteen years ago) link

Maybe, Madchen, depends if I shake off this flu. I asked the mister if he wanted to go to the CCA with you tonight, but he didn't fancy it on the grounds that "it's miles away". Which, of course, it isn't. What he should have said was "I'm a lazy git".

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 10 March 2005 17:32 (nineteen years ago) link

baby.

Ally C (Ally C), Thursday, 10 March 2005 17:35 (nineteen years ago) link

the CCA isn't miles away, if you are me, but it is, if you are a lot of people.

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 10 March 2005 17:38 (nineteen years ago) link

and thanks, cook.
