Tim WallachLarry Parrish
For the third or fourth time today, I guessed the wrong guy on Immaculate Grid. For their careers:
Parrish - 256 HR, 992 RBI, .263/.318/.439Wallach - 260, HR, 1125 RBI, .257/.316/.416
Both were third baseman, both had their best years for the Expos--around '81 or '82, Wallach took over from Parrish. For the purposes of the game, 1) Parrish had a 30-HR season but Wallach didn't (28); 2) Wallach had a 100-RBI season but Parrish didn't.
― clemenza, Friday, 3 May 2024 14:45 (three weeks ago) link
And 3) Wallach won a GG but Parrish didn't.

Also by Capra, and also from 1939! That may actually have made the problem worse until now that I'm consciously aware of it; a kind of feeling that the other film than the one I'm thinking of has somehow shapeshifted or something. Thanks for pinning that one down.
