Pullman was in Zero Effect, and Paxton wasn't. But I still got to give it to Paxton despite the high number of flaming turds in his cv.

If Pullman wins this, I'm quitting ILX. Ok probably not, but I'll be unhappy.

Jeff, Wednesday, 22 June 2011 15:15 (twelve years ago) link

I really don't think you need to worry about that happening.

Add The Last Seduction to that Pullman list.

He's been doing a lot of plays--would like to see how he does there.

Let me tell you something about that song. (Eazy), Wednesday, 22 June 2011 15:19 (twelve years ago) link

pullman should have morphed into paxton in lost highway, not that balthazard guy

results too close, imo release the names of Pullman voters and let a tribunal decide their fate...

every bill pullman movie has an ilxor who loves it enough to ignore the unfuckwithable glory of bill paxton's career

watched "dead alive," which might be the only movie with pullman and paxton, with some chilx pals on saturday. pullman is definitely the star, but paxton has some substantial scenes, and it's kind of archetypical roles for both - pullman is nerdy and nervous, paxton is brash and swarmy. great movie if you haven't seen it, also has a creepy bud cort in a big role.

paxton pwns in true lies

post you had fecund thoughts about (darraghmac), Wednesday, 18 March 2015 01:40 (nine years ago) link

Pullman is aloof, arch, it almost always comes across to me like "I can't really act" acting which is fine, of course, but it doesn't work for me in his case. Paxton does the opposite really, or tries to, and it works for me. But maybe that's just cos I find him hot.

Well, bummer news indeed about Paxton. What a sad way to pass as well, after complications from surgery. He made a mark for sure.

Oh no! I just listened to Dean Delray's* interview with him last week and was starting to work my way through his roles. Damn, what a bummer.

*It was amazing because it felt like Delray had finally found a guest who actually complimented his (often distracting) voice.
