My senior high school (in Finland the classes that Americans call "junior high" are part of elementary school) had 4 stories and a basement, but it's an old school dating back to the 19th century:

As a building, it was a pretty cool place to go to, at least compared to the grey, "modern" concrete school I went to before that:

That was used for track (obviously), soccer practices/games, and possibly football practice. But the actual football games were played on a separate field in the next block, with grandstands on both sides.

(and apparently, D-40 and I went to the same high school!)

My HS was tiny. Here's a Google Maps pic of my school, w/features labeled. This held about 500 students total (my graduating class was 120). Note, no football field, despite us having a surprisingly competitive team.

And here is the crazy K-12 campus they built three years after I graduated, when they were flush with property taxes from the nearby nuclear power plant, taxes that had been abated for the previous 15 years. For reference, the school shown above is at the lower right in this picture.

there's an entire athletic wing with the pool and a bazillion basketball courts, next to the 300 seat auditorium

most of the classrooms are in a square with an open courtyard (I think there were 3 floors? someone else remind me) with the industrial/agricultural arts wing in a separate building off to the side past the cafeteria

abbott i went to CDO, which hasn't ever appeared in a teen movie but did show up in an issue of FOUND magazine as an illustration a student did, adorned with a mushroom cloud rising out of the center of campus
