I and other ex-Greensborians crossed paths with Krishnas quite a bit b/c they had a restaurant by UNCG, under the apartment I lived in for a while. Good food. Courtney, my boyfriend and I ate from their take-out while we watched CNN on 9/11.

Just putting that there for the Druid angle.
There's a new breakfast place across from Atlas Brewing called Batter and Berries and if you are a fan of sweet breakfasts, it's pretty good.

Hey, CPL has is doing fines amnesty. I've had $40-some since 2006, but I've decided to still pay them. Or maybe make a donation if they are not accepting fines money.

Speaking of AMAZING BARGAINS, Macy's is fixing to put Charter Club down comforters on sale for 50% off, plus you can get another 25% off if you donate $5 to some charity. I think it starts next week, but P@ul@nn3 the bedding department lady told me that you can pre-purchase to lock in the sale price.
― ms. cookie (carl agatha), Monday, 20 August 2012 19:57 (eleven years ago) link
But don't buy duvet covers at Macy's because holy cannoli that shit is expensive.
How much are the down comforters?

The king size was originally $400 something down to under $200 for the "level 4" weight, which is one under the heavy weight and what P@ul@nn3 recommended for a Chicago winter even in these warming times.

One of R's friends posted about it on fb this morning. I thought there already was a gay bar up there, but perhaps I was wrong. Or perhaps it was not as 'out'.

Sorry about that mess, Chicago thread.
Nick, were they awesome? I would love to see them.
Thx, Jenny. I can't see myself spending $200 on bedding, however lovely. I have a down comforter now that covers my queen size bed, but doesn't fill a duvet cover.... I wonder where it came from?? It seems like it's always been with me...
xp - there has been one in Superior, WI for 6 years. Same owners.

Alert: we are going to Craigslist a vintage Lane-brand cedar chest but I will give it to anybody reading this thread who is willing to come get it and carry it out of our house. I don't know the measurements off the top of my head, but it's sizable. It's a little beat up but it smells really good and it's in good condition for as old as it is.

TBF, the fact that this year's college freshmen were born the year I graduated college does make me feel a little old, but it's the same way hearing 80s songs played on "oldies" radio makes me feel old. It's a benign, "Holy shit, time really does pass and I'm not actually goign to be in my 20s forever!" kind of old feeling.
LL, I would like to know whether college freshman, in your experience, are unfamiliar with the Biblical origins of common phrases. I would also like to know if people born before 1994 all know that "the writing is on the wall" is from the book of Daniel.
