Explosions at the Boston Marathon

I had the tv off, was actually in the middle of doing work when all of this happened; once again my wife called me to tell me it was going on (she also told me about the WTC attack)

glad to see boston ilxors are alright. this is horrible, horrible, horribe. nothing to really say other than i hope the death/injury count doesn't rise any higher.

unclear as to the exact count right now, but I'm hearing that in addition to the 2 explosions, there were another 2, possibly 3 undetonated devices? god

in addition to the stretcher dude who seems to be missing a foot, Channel 5 keeps showing footage of a woman in a wheelchair being rushed to treatment whose right foot looks like.. it might fall off

it could just be because of how it's bandaged but... I don't think so? then again I'm not in the habit of looking at pics of almost severed feet so grain of salt etc

the dude at Channel 5 is editorializing hardcore about people on the scene not being able to process what happened, leaving out the inconvenient fact that most of these people just ran a marathon and are exhausted

Devices/bombs likely place in garbage cans. Third device found unexploded in a garbage can as well.

i want to hold back on what to believe about the unexploded devices, that sounds like something that could easily be misinformation/misidentification. but still.

Press conference said that the third device/explosion at the JFK library was legit.

Not fifteen minutes ago there was "confirmation" on the news that the JFK Library fire was "mechanical" and unrelated, now it's confirmed that it was a 3rd explosion where nobody was injured.

"on the lookout for a yellow penske truck, tried to gain access to the scene, claimed to have medical supplies and was turned away" -- police scanner

they got someone's cell phone video of the 2nd explosion on Channel 5; not at all graphic, and on the second explosion the person filming freaks out and starts running, still filming

the camera is obviously pointing down, swinging wildly as the person runs, and the dude on Channel 5 says "at the end, you can see someone's legs go flying through the air"

this is very obviously NOT the case, what you see is a swinging camera filming the legs of running people with the camera adjusting poorly for rapid light changes

i hope in a week or two somebody compiles all the breathless tv anchor speculation (locally and on cable) and puts up a big reel-of-shame

@JoshDorner Contra early reports, Boston PD says they have *NOT* found any additional devices.
