He likes moon-faced Laurie Anderson, dude! HI DERE SPREDSHEET.

Laurel, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 16:27 (seventeen years ago) link

oh shit yes, that pic of a young laurie anderson made me swoon.

chicago kevin, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 16:27 (seventeen years ago) link

She's not normally my type either, but that Monica Keena, she's got somethin.

Jordan, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 16:32 (seventeen years ago) link

Never mind, I'm not getting into it.

jaymc, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 16:34 (seventeen years ago) link

Goodness, I just GISed Keena and, depending on her make-up, I think either "what a fresh, pretty young woman!" or "Who let the Russian slut in, and aren't Russian sluts supposed to be taller?"

Laurel, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 16:36 (seventeen years ago) link

I had to do a GIS for Monica Keena, and she's pretty cute. I am not super picky, however.

I'm putting out the call for parties interested in seeing the Wings/Blackhawks game tonight... some people had talked about it in the past and I'm just seeing if you're still interested. I am pretty sure the game is at 7:30, it's $10, and I'm probably going to hit up someplace downtown for some dinner beforehand. Anyone interested is more than welcome, just be ready for hearing me yell/get yelled at a lot.

dan m, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 16:37 (seventeen years ago) link

damn, i forgot about this! i can't make it.

chicago kevin, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 16:41 (seventeen years ago) link

I GISed Monica, too, and found her not to be quite safe for work. Decision on hotness pending.

kenan, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 16:41 (seventeen years ago) link

That whole show should really have been about Jason Segal's character (the crazy ex-boyfriend). I'm glad he's on "How I Met Your Mother" now but it doesn't really give him the chance to show off his skills at playing extremely pathetic but somewhat likeable characters.

n/a, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 16:52 (seventeen years ago) link

nick, did you listen to the commentary of the episode that featured the three dudes from the copy shop? if i remember correctly they filmed that after they knew undeclared was not coming back and they were using it as a pilot of sorts for those three characters. that would've been so f'ing awesome that it probably wouldn't have lasted 8 episodes on network tv.

chicago kevin, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 16:55 (seventeen years ago) link

the verdict is in: Monica Keena = but not for me

kenan, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 16:55 (seventeen years ago) link

Oh yeah, I was so happy when he showed up and his character was the logical progression of his Freaks & Geeks character five years down the road!

I haven't seen How I Met Your Mother, is it worth watching on dvd someday?

Jordan, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 16:57 (seventeen years ago) link

I've seen a few episodes of How I Met Your Mother (including one last night). It's an above-average sitcom but not especially brilliant. Neil Patrick Harris is pretty funny in it.

n/a, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 16:58 (seventeen years ago) link

WTF is How I Met Your Mother??

I forgot to mention this, Jordan, but the episodes on the Undeclared DVD are out of order, because they accidentally put them on in the order they were shot. Check Wikipedia to see the correct order you should watch them in.

jaymc, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:06 (seventeen years ago) link

John: Use context clues

It's an above-average sitcom
Neil Patrick Harris is pretty funny in it
I'm glad (Jason Segal is) on "How I Met Your Mother"

IT'S A SITCOM WITH JASON SEGAL AND NEIL PATRICK HARRIS

n/a, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:11 (seventeen years ago) link

That girl who stuck a flute up her pussy is on it too.

n/a, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:11 (seventeen years ago) link

Thanks, Nick. The title is vaguely familiar. I think I may have been conflating it with Yes, Dear.

Alyson Hannigan is cute, too.

jaymc, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:13 (seventeen years ago) link

It is significantly better than Yes, Dear.

n/a, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:18 (seventeen years ago) link

I thought the deal was that the Undeclared DVD was in the order the shows were broadcast, which was not the order that Apatow had originally intended.

n/a, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:19 (seventeen years ago) link

is Monica Keena not a "hot" woman? I think she's pretty hot.

horseshoe, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:21 (seventeen years ago) link

She'd be hotter if I saw her IRL instead of in a jpeg, probably.

dan m, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:22 (seventeen years ago) link

I thought the deal was that the Undeclared DVD was in the order the shows were broadcast, which was not the order that Apatow had originally intended.

Not sure, but either way, it's best to watch them in the order Apatow intended.

is Monica Keena not a "hot" woman? I think she's pretty hot.

She's hot in the sense that she sometimes shows up in FHM and Maxim and the like, but I guess I was contrasting "hot" and "cute," in the way that I do when I talk about how I'm attracted to "cute" women. She's totally the kind of person who would be cast as the "cute" best friend of the female lead, except what's weird about Undeclared is that Carla Gallo isn't all that attractive.

jaymc, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:28 (seventeen years ago) link

okay, I don't use "hot" to mean anything but "good-looking," really. Carla Gallo's there to be hilarious on Undeclared, I think.

horseshoe, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:30 (seventeen years ago) link

I find Gallo more attractive than Keena. If we're rating these things.

n/a, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:35 (seventeen years ago) link

BUT OF COURSE NEITHER ARE AS ATTRACTIVE AS MY BEAUTIFUL ANGEL SARAH!!! XXX OOO XXX OOO

n/a, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:36 (seventeen years ago) link

Yer nuts.

jaymc, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:36 (seventeen years ago) link

i'm starting to wish we were talking about the weather.

kenan, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:36 (seventeen years ago) link

jaymc's xpost is a perfect example of how no xpost warnings are trouble

kenan, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:37 (seventeen years ago) link

I find Gallo more attractive than Keena.

otm

chicago kevin, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:38 (seventeen years ago) link

carla gallo seems more cute than hot. monica keena, the opposite.

JuliaA, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:39 (seventeen years ago) link

Yeah, let's not have the creepy conversation about which girls that are way younger than us are attractive.

n/a, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:40 (seventeen years ago) link

that is probably best.

JuliaA, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:41 (seventeen years ago) link

Monica Keena was born 13 days after you, Nick.

jaymc, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:42 (seventeen years ago) link

And Carla Gallo is 31.

jaymc, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:43 (seventeen years ago) link

when was undeclared on, anyway?

JuliaA, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:43 (seventeen years ago) link

2001-02, I think?

jaymc, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:44 (seventeen years ago) link

Carla Gallo is 31.

!!!

n/a, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:44 (seventeen years ago) link

be she cute or hot i do not know but i stand by nick's assertion:

I find Gallo more attractive than Keena.

chicago kevin, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:44 (seventeen years ago) link

you're right, just checked imdb.

JuliaA, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:44 (seventeen years ago) link

So I guess you have a point if you're saying that we're talking about women who were younger then than we are now.

jaymc, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:44 (seventeen years ago) link

kevin is also right. keena wears too much eyeliner in a self-consciously-hot kinda way.

JuliaA, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:45 (seventeen years ago) link

Anyone got cheap/semi-cheap dinner ideas in the Loop? Preferably on or near Madison? Jesse? Anyone? I'm not picky.

dan m, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:46 (seventeen years ago) link

Monica Keena had the second-best death on Dawson's Creek: she got drunk and fell into the creek and drowned.

Best death: Dawson's dad was eating an ice cream cone in the car, the scoop of ice cream fell off, and as he reached down to pick it up in the middle of an intersection, another car hit him.

jaymc, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:47 (seventeen years ago) link

I don't remember her wearing eyeliner on Undeclared or Dawson's Creek. She doesn't need to -- her eyes are huge and amazing.

jaymc, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:48 (seventeen years ago) link

Maybe she's born with it. Maaaybe it's Mabelline.

KitCat, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:50 (seventeen years ago) link

or Maybelline. Nobody knows.

KitCat, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:50 (seventeen years ago) link

i'm sure she did. dead people wear eyeliner on tv, if they're female.

i was just going from the GIS results rather than memories of the show, which i haven't watched in quite a while.

JuliaA, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:50 (seventeen years ago) link

I will say that Carla Gallo was perfect on Undeclared, though, because she's exactly the kind of plain-looking college freshman that way outnumber the actual hot girls in college. Like you just look at her and think "oh, she's totally a psych major."

jaymc, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:51 (seventeen years ago) link

Jay is the same age as my youngest sister.

KitCat, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 17:58 (seventeen years ago) link

Did 'Knocked Up' ever come out?

KitCat, Tuesday, 27 February 2007 18:01 (seventeen years ago) link
