I had him on a deadpool a few years ago, but I just checked and Jerry Maren is still alive. He was the middle munchkin of the lollipop guild in the wizard of oz. Aalso starred as an ape in planet of the apes and was rotoscoped into a hobbit for the bakshi lord of the rings.

John Ashcroft. He isn't even that old! But somehow he seems like a creature from another time.

Francesca de la tour. There was a history of Rising Damp on a few days back. I thought I'd heard she'd died years back but when it wasn't mentioned I looked her up and seems she's still with us.

Stevolende, Thursday, 7 July 2016 07:05 (eight years ago) link

Yeah, she still appears in movies every so oft.

Mark G, Thursday, 7 July 2016 09:09 (eight years ago) link

I saw her younger brother Andy do comedy in the '80s, supporting Rik Mayall. He was a better comic actor than stand-up, I think.

Wonder what her politics are these days, used to in the Workers' Revolutionary Party.

Yep. At 90.

Frank Ifield. Actually not that old, only 78.

Wow, I had Frank Ifield down as my parents' generation at least, if not 5-10 years older. I'd have guessed 90.

Nanette Fabray is 95. You could have a cast reunion of the 1939 film The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex and you'd have at least two invitees: Nanette Fabray and 100 year-old Olivia de Havilland

two weeks pass...

This just happened to me. Was reading a thing about Keeping Up Appearances and thinking it unusual they hadn't mentioned Patricia Routledge's recent death. Which apparently only happened in my mind. I am CONVINCED there was loads of stuff on the news about her and what a brilliant credible actress she was when I only knew her from KUA - am I thinking of someone else? Fairly sure I'm not confusing her with Cilla...
