But if they'll do a Thunderbolts movie, presumably Zemo will still be their leader, and the movie Zemo would never have a HYDRA follower in his team anyway.

Sure but Crossbones was in the "felons controlled by Luke Cage in a thinly-veiled version of Suicide Squad" iteration, not the Zemo iteration

Think the actor who played Crossbones has suggested his character might return, not that it seems all that plausible.

i'm sure everyone's forgotten this already but it was very convenient that it happened to be bucky who killed stark's parents and it happened to be captured on cctv which happened to make it back to siberia (i think??) and it happened to be only stark and cap am and bucky who turned up there (plus black panther who happened to redact himself). i know, forget it jake it's comic book town.

It seemed pretty inconvenient if I'm honest it made it very tricky to resolve the issue without conflict

yeah i would have been happier without the extra 20 minutes of 'enhanced' white dudes slugging each other around. which maybe begs the question why i bother watching these things.

I thought this movie was a humourless clusterfuck (with good Spider-Man bits) and not sure why everyone went crazy over it. Maybe it just got overpraised in the wake of BatVSupes showing just how bad one of these movies *could* get.
― Chuck_Tatum, Friday, 19 January 2018 14:32 (six years ago) link
well the real civil war was a humorless clusterfuck so
― El Tomboto, Friday, 19 January 2018 14:34 (six years ago) link
Huh, I would've sworn this was before BvS.

funnily enough i rescreened this again recently and it's fine - didn't like it as much as i did upthread but it does a good job of keeping a lot of characters moving and it's got some cool moments
ledge's point about enhanced folks slugging each other at the climax is fair but i still much prefer the small, personal nature of the conflict to yet another 'gotta close the portal in the sky!' finale
winter soldier is a hard act to follow tbf

oh and the fight choreography is fkn rad, even if there is a bit too much of it
i didn't love it but it's still fine. i don't really get why tony and steve *have* to fight at the end, it's all too idiot plot
but iron man 2 is still the only flat-out bad marvel movie, i think.
― Chuck_Tatum, Friday, 19 January 2018 15:23 (six years ago) link
Dr Strange. Awful.
Didn't think winter soldier was any better than avg for marvel tho

xps no the REAL Civil War was the friends we made along the way
― Millennial Whoop, wanna fight about it? (Phil D.), Friday, 19 January 2018 15:39 (six years ago) link
Winter Soldier was basically Marvel's Bourne movie.

But better because CAPTAIN AMERICA

russo era marvel makes it obvious that punching is the only way to solve any problem.
(punching was also the solution in the whedon era, but he managed to hide it well.)
