Still think the cadence - "LG. BTQ." - the accents - "reGEEEM change" - and the half-volume parentheticals - "believe me", "no good", "think of this" - are weird, and likely go over badly.

Reminds me of the Jon Stewart speech at that rally where he thought maybe he'd try to be a politician. As soon as he loses the foil of responding to people/news, and the technique of speaking off the cuff, he's a different guy. And much worse on TV.

I know I live in a bubble, but it's hard to imagine anyone outside of this stadium being moved by this unending focus on law and order, terrorism, violence, and illegal immigrants.

it's absurdly one-note

yeah you really have to be in a fox-news bubble where it's obvious to you and everyone you talk to that this handful of themes are the biggest, hugest, most widely-recognized crucial issues plaguing the country and driving all the problems. if you don't feel that way it's going to feel like he's kinda not talking about anything that matters, even if you are someone who agrees on some of these topics (?)

i turned the TV on for literally six seconds and heard two lies coming out of this guy's mouth. impressive!

i hope someone sneaks up behind him and cuts his scalp off.

what i find most mind-numbing about this little shpiel is the relentless hyperbole. everything is the most disastrous, the worst ever, the most massive, and i mean massive, the most horrible murders, or on the flip side the best, the greatest, never again, etc etc etc etc.

apparently this is just his stump speech but with sentences and a weirdly even apocalyptic tone and no jokes

and when the FBI stats show violent crime is on the decline for the last few decades, Trump's adviser merely says since the FBI didn't prosecute Hillary, their stats can't be trusted. which happened earlier.
