i didn't even know you could vape it until the other day. obvs it's totally illegal in the UK and always has been although there are a few pubs near me that take a liberal attitude to these things if you're discreet.

Always find that while a joint doesn't have the instant deep impact of a bong hit, over time it delivers the longer lasting and more satisfying smoke.

Also, as an ex-smoker I still like sucking on a little tube of pleasure.

best way to smoke is to fill up a chamber thick with smoke, soak two long strings (thin ropes work too) in it for 2 minutes, tie up the smoky strings tautly across the room, *pluck* the strings so you can see them oscillate (strobe lights help) and then run under the vibrating strings, catching a perfect whiff as you pass by

one thing about a joint is if you can roll a nice tight one that draws easy you feel kinda cool. or maybe -you- don't, idk, but back when I was a cigarette smoker who sometimes rolled his own, I liked the "nice!" response if several of us would be sitting around and the question 'can anybody roll joints?' would come up. rolling up a doob and smoking it...it's just a different vibe

chillums are my default, they are easy to use and discreet. someday i'll get a vaporizer but i think we are still a ways away from really reliable and consistent vapes

Joints always give me a throwback, drinking-shitty-beer-out-of-cans, high school party sort of feeling which is great but they're impractical for solo use. They're smelly and and an entire one of 20%+ THC weed would totally cripple me. The pre-rolls at the stores are always 1 gram apiece and it usually takes me 2 weeks or so to go through a that much in my normal use.

Bowls all the way, because you can totes magyver one out of a sheet of aluminum foil, a soda can, or an apple.

The last time I smoked a cigarette I bought some of those pre-roll cones for lazy joints and some loose American Spirit tobacco. It was the first nicotine buzz I'd had since W's first year in office, honestly pretty nice.

There *are* smokers who prefer the flavor or bite of roll your owns, but it's rare, and they def don't smoke Top. Most ppl who smoke em do so because it's what they can afford.

edibles are too intense, I do finally have a vape I like, but still smoking a bit of weed out of my glass pipe is the most enjoyable for me

Edibled and vape both have that lag before it kicks in, I like smoking better because I feel like I can more accurately keep track of how high I am.

Was cooking dinner the other night, annoyed about the pungent aroma of the weed that my son has been bongripping in the garage, when I accidentally spilled some oregano on the stove burner. I was like "Yes! This is what weed should smell like!" We need weed that has been stepped on with kitchen spices again.

I'm lucky I never got into cigs. feel like I should've at some point because pretty much all my friends smoke. it was pretty obnoxious that they'd all go out for a smoke break every hour and I'd just be left inside sitting on my hands. eventually I started going out with them and smoking some myself but I never liked it. I tell myself I don't do it for health reasons, or because I hate smelling like smoke (especially being married to a non-smoker), or because it fucking sucks having to constantly go outside when you live in a state where it's cold 7 months out of the year, but the reality is I never caught anything more than a mild buzz off it

weed was kinda the same thing for a while because we got that cheap shit that high schoolers get, which maybe was actually cut with spices and brillo pads. I remember rolling really awful Js and then spending the next 2 hours thinking "am I high yet?". all I remember is getting a little freaked out by the Simpsons. then we got some actual decent weed and it changed everything. 15 minutes in I'm physically unable to stop headbanging to "Mother Sky" by Can and I'm just like...hmmm...now I get it. it's nice. I still try to do more edibles for the sake of my lungs though. I don't really like that feeling that you've burned the back of your throat or the pipes that lead to your ears.

For a while I lived in Richmond, Virginia, a tobacco-centric city, surrounded by smokers... I love the smell of drying tobacco.

Every few years I would buy a pack of unfiltered Camels out of love for the design and for the smell when freshly opened pack of Camels.

Burning them, though... the smoker quickly gets nose-blind to the smell and it's infinitely worse when burning than before.

As a silly English major I smoked a pipe for a while - nose-blindedness is a problem there too. Pipe tobacco can be quite nice but the smoker doesn't smell it in the same way as a nonsmoker does. These dynamics get glossed over but to me they are important factors.

I have smoked plenty of weed but prefer gummies these days.

i'm in brooklyn for the first time since legalization. i hadn't really fully clocked that you can legally smoke weed anywhere it's legal to smoke tobacco. the smell of weed is eeeeverywhere. people just toking out in front of the police station. it is absolutely wild. can very easily imagine people going to the airport and forgetting they have a joint in their backpack. you know, people that are not me

i'm a little suspect of your average bodega weed, but i like that it's possible to buy weed at any time pretty much anywhere now. smell of brooklyn in the summer is very much weed + match light charcoal.

Ohare has "cannabis amnesty" boxes for folks who wind up at the airport with an overlooked spliff in their pocket...

And they are INSIDE security…

I have seen those, and pretty much just assume that it's a rotating privilege among security and TSA staff to "safely dispose" of the contents of the amnesty boxes.

My understanding (gleaned through conversations with Phish heads, so maybe find secondary confirmation) is that the TSA don't realy care about weed anymore, although local police in the city you're flying into might, and carrying it over international borders is, of course, bad.

I suspect with more and more states going legal it would probably cripple an airport to try do deal with small amounts of weed
