RJG (RJG), Wednesday, 31 May 2006 22:25 (eighteen years ago) link

I really really like the look of the Persian but I am leaving tomorrow : (

Cathy (Cathy), Thursday, 1 June 2006 07:16 (eighteen years ago) link

I like the look of Persian and also of Glasgow Green beer place. Let's go out, Glasgow!

Those of you who don't read the Watercooler thread may or may not know that beanz who posts on ILX is coming up to Glasgow today until Sunday. Drinking may occur at some point.

(2pm kick-off, pick a pub, swapsies optional for those not participating in this form of abject torture and mentalism)

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 1 June 2006 11:48 (eighteen years ago) link

i'm trying glasgow in exactly one month, for the first time.

is arriving at glasgow central at 13:49 to get to a c. 15:00 appointment at the gilmorehill centre at glasgow university a viable plan of action, people who know?

Enrique IX: The Mediator (Enrique), Thursday, 1 June 2006 11:53 (eighteen years ago) link

Westbeer is great. It's absolutley huge. You can sit and watch them making up the beer too! It's never really busy either. The bratwurst is excellent, but the Kaesespaetzle isn't - it's a bit like baby food. Try the Weihenstephaner (wheat beer) if you get the chance.

JohnFoxxsJuno (JohnFoxxsJuno), Thursday, 1 June 2006 11:57 (eighteen years ago) link

Yes, no problem at all. Get out of the station on the right hand side, cross Hope Street, stand at bus stop, get on 44 bus, pay the driver, sit there for a bit, get off 44 bus, voila, you are at Glasgow University. Approx half an hour including hanging out waiting for bus time. Alternatively, get out of station, get a taxi, shell out less than a fiver, bob's yer uncle.

(xpost)

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 1 June 2006 11:58 (eighteen years ago) link

sweet as a nut.

taxi it is!

Enrique IX: The Mediator (Enrique), Thursday, 1 June 2006 12:09 (eighteen years ago) link

enrique, i sincerely hope you'll be sticking around long enough to join us for pints somewhere?

maybe even westbeer. which sounds mighty!

grimly fiendish (grimlord), Thursday, 1 June 2006 12:11 (eighteen years ago) link

that would be cool!

i am staying over, on the saturday.

and don't plan on hanging with these guys.

Enrique IX: The Mediator (Enrique), Thursday, 1 June 2006 12:20 (eighteen years ago) link

well, some of them are ok, especially one ilx0r's dad.

Enrique IX: The Mediator (Enrique), Thursday, 1 June 2006 12:24 (eighteen years ago) link

That Persian restaurant is absolutely ace.

scotstvo (scotstvo), Thursday, 1 June 2006 12:27 (eighteen years ago) link

I get paid on 29th June - shall we go Persian then? Otherwise, if we want to go to on a Friday or Saturday it needs to be dopo il calcio now.

Mädchen (Madchen), Thursday, 1 June 2006 15:42 (eighteen years ago) link

Ooh, get you and your fancy Italian! 29th = fine by me.

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 1 June 2006 15:46 (eighteen years ago) link

stet (stet), Thursday, 1 June 2006 16:09 (eighteen years ago) link

falafel now

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 1 June 2006 16:09 (eighteen years ago) link

want to go to fazzi's and kokuryo

has anyone been and will you recommend?

cozen (Cozen), Thursday, 1 June 2006 16:10 (eighteen years ago) link

kokuryo is poor. fazzi's not been for years but i went through a phase of preferring sarti's before i learned to make that kind of typical italian food much better myself.

jed_ (jed), Thursday, 1 June 2006 16:16 (eighteen years ago) link

fazzi's not that great, really.

stet (stet), Thursday, 1 June 2006 16:40 (eighteen years ago) link

Oi, stet and madchen, stop communicating in teh foreign, you're like Glyn and Imogen.

(I babelfished it, so I know what you are on about now, though I had a kind of idea anyway)

ailsa (ailsa), Thursday, 1 June 2006 16:44 (eighteen years ago) link

"dopo il calcio" is a superb phrase. i'm swiping it.

fazzi's is average. nothing to write home about at all.

can't do june 29th - will be on late shifts that week.

saturday 1st is a definite for NRQFAP. i'm kinda triple-booked that weekend but fuck it, i'll work something out.
