Where do we assume this hierarchy occurs?
If footpath, pedestrians. If road, motor vehicles. If cycle path, duckling.
― virginity simple (darraghmac), Monday, 24 April 2017 16:50 (seven years ago) link
all paths are roads, all roads are paths, also, these rules apply to off road areas like where infinity goes in his dune buggy
― El Tomboto, Monday, 24 April 2017 16:55 (seven years ago) link
Off road is clearly ducklings, anything but road is ducklings really

Yes, taxi drivers are like 900 on the list. Just ahead of cyclists.

do school buses qualify as "children" or are they only a variation of "public transportion"?

i ride a bike like it were any other vehicle, i.e. i stop at stop signs, i stop at red lights etc. I'm lucky to live in a city with lots roads, which while not being closed to motorized traffic are designated as bikeways and motorists can have no complaints about having to go slow because of bikes if they choose to use them (there are always busier main streets parallel to the bikeways).

It's a legitimate concern. Caught this snap on the way into work this morning:http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-Ho4aZBxKuS0/T_k_ZVLuyDI/AAAAAAAEqSM/LCtoRPPfWkM/s1600/Baby%27s_Day_+Out-1994-MSS-26.jpg

I find wearing a crown while cycling makes drivers respect you more and if any of them still give you shit you can clock them with your sceptre

I'm a bike person really but I voted motorcycles because c'mon...motorcycles. No for real though you can compete and even surpass traffic on almost all city streets & roadways, but you only need a few feet width of space to get around obstacles like garbage trucks, stopped cars, obstreperous babies, school buses. I have legit weaved between a bunch of fire trucks that had closed an entire 6-lane street because of a roof rescue situation and the fire fighters were like "No problem, come through here." In short, motorcycles.

Uber should've made it on my list. Especially after reading the New York Times piece on that ding-dong Travis Kaepernick whatshisface being a schmuckball par excellence, I will go out of my way to avoid going out of my way for any exploitative gig-based driving solution.

ducklings and babies are like plastic bags and bottles, you should make an instinctual attempt to swerve and avoid them, but if you drive over them, nbd, shouldn't be in the road.

last autumn i was in cambridge and a bunch of tourists had stopped traffic to take photos of some turkeys. them birdy bastards are big and mean, and entirely undeserving of photographic recognition, and i was about to start blasting my horn. then, a turkey charged at the photographers and traffic unknotted quickly. but seriously, who the hell takes photos of jaywalking turkeys? even if i was in cambodia and a shitass cute slow loris paused in middle of the road, i wouldn't stop for it. ducklings are special. and yeah, include puppies and kitties. but only domesticated and adorable animals.

Let a man find himself, in distinction from others, on top of two wheels with a chain, and his vanity begins to swell out like his tires-- at least in a poor country like Russia. In America it takes an automobile to produce this effect.
