I kept hoping I'd see RJG and Ally C.

At least the internet can see where that blonde piece lives.

Dalzinho, Friday, 26 June 2009 08:02 (fourteen years ago) link

It's gone. :/

Alba, Friday, 26 June 2009 11:51 (fourteen years ago) link

yeah :(

cozwn, Friday, 26 June 2009 11:53 (fourteen years ago) link

Did someone upset Luca on the YT comments?

Alba, Friday, 26 June 2009 11:54 (fourteen years ago) link

I didn't quite understand the blonde girl's place in the whole thing. Did Luca just spy on her over the road? Or were they friends from the start?

Alba, Friday, 26 June 2009 11:55 (fourteen years ago) link

Actually, there were two blonde girls, weren't there? Anyway, the one who lived opposite.

Alba, Friday, 26 June 2009 11:56 (fourteen years ago) link

OK, I didn't watch this. I had a very, very quick look and went "meh, OK, some kind of in-joke or something". Can someone explain what I missed, taking care to distort and exaggerate as much as possible? Ta muchly.

a tiny, faltering megaphone (grimly fiendish), Friday, 26 June 2009 23:42 (fourteen years ago) link

thank christ this is gone. i watched it 20 times yesterday and it woke up with it playing in my head. i spent all of today with it stuck there, i thought i was going crazy.

jed_, Friday, 26 June 2009 23:54 (fourteen years ago) link

You missed our hero coming over from Milan on Ryanair, finding out that Glasgow occasionally has a bit of blue sky, visiting two people he barely knew who lived on Clouston St, meeting their blonde pal who sings songs, eating cake, smiling a bit, then in the super feel-good finish, coming to live here. On - yes! - Clouston St. best video yet made.

stet, Saturday, 27 June 2009 00:08 (fourteen years ago) link

you missed out the bit where he includes lots of shots of the outside of the blonde pal's house.

Thanks Alba, facilitator of social networking!

What's on fire, Glasgow? There's a rather inconvenient house in the way not letting me see where all the smoke is coming from across the river from my house.

ailsa, Saturday, 27 June 2009 09:35 (fourteen years ago) link

all sorted cheers guys! waiting for plane now xx

ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Saturday, 27 June 2009 10:45 (fourteen years ago) link

What is on fire is the same scrapyard that was on fire before. It's this side of the river, and was causing delays to flights because it was blowing smoke all over the flightpath to Glasgow Airport, but Ken will be delighted to know it's calmed down a bit now.

ailsa, Saturday, 27 June 2009 11:39 (fourteen years ago) link

So, tomorrow I will be at the 13th Note's "Rumble In The Jumble" event in the afternoon from 12pm onwards showing off and selling prints in my Crimson Glow Photography guise.

There's lots of other arty/crafty/bric-a-brac stalls, cocktails, food, board games, DJs and then bands in the evening. Free entry, of course.

If anyone fancies it, then please do come along for a browse, maybe even buy something, and at the very least say hi!

ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Monday, 29 June 2009 11:20 (fourteen years ago) link

ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Monday, 29 June 2009 11:22 (fourteen years ago) link

This is gold. I live just off Clouston Street, in Sanda Street. I have fond memories of Clouston St. Ken - our mutual friend Kate used to stay there in a great party flat. The wall between the kitchen and the lounge had been knocked down, so you had this massive open plan room. Perhaps I should write a song about Sanda Street. Unfortunately I don't have any beautiful girls living next door, at least as far as I know.

Try to chain it down to Glasgow Cross :)

A wee plug for myself for anyone in Glasgow over the last two weeks of July...

Crimson Glow Photography presents "It's Not Red", a solo photography exhibtion at the 13th Note, Glasgow, from Monday 20th July to Sunday 2nd August 2009.

An exhibition of live music photography and sonic terrorism in visual form, from the depths of Glasgow's own underground weirdness to the hallowed international heights of touring musical marauders.

http://krakow.zenfolio.com/img/v3/p438758894-11.jpg

Entry, as ever, is free. Please do come along at some point during the exhibition to take a look. Features Throbbing Gristle, Hermann Nitsch, Richard Youngs, Glasgow Implodes and many others...

http://krakow.zenfolio.com/img/v6/p538505263-11.jpg

Prints are now available to buy in Avalanche Records, Glasgow and should also be available in Monorail Music before too long and from the 13th Note during the exhibtion itself, as well as directly from myself, of course.

Vist my website for plenty more photographs from Glasgow's gigs and beyond and feel free to contact me with any photographic requests or enquiries, be it for prints, photo usage, or photography work.

Thanks very much for reading.

Dr.C, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 14:13 (fourteen years ago) link

krakow, soon as i get some dough im gonna buy one yr one prints, am leaning towards that great shot of omar souleyman clapping his hands

dr c - dated noted in diary, im sure we'll meet in mono (joek)

Ward Fowler, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 14:16 (fourteen years ago) link

Stereo? (Not joek :)

That's superb: I'll try to make sure I get an early finish that day.

And Krakow: I'll definitely try to pop along and have a look at your wares.

a tiny, faltering megaphone (grimly fiendish), Wednesday, 15 July 2009 14:50 (fourteen years ago) link

i'll come to see Dr C. 4th is a tuesday night though :s

jed_, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 14:59 (fourteen years ago) link

i went to stereo last time i tried glasgow!

ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Wednesday, 15 July 2009 15:43 (fourteen years ago) link

was disappointed it wasn't twice the size as mono

ken "save-a-finn" c (ken c), Wednesday, 15 July 2009 15:44 (fourteen years ago) link

The seats are rubbish in Stereo. Should be quite quiet on a Tuesday, right enough. That's the first week of my holiday, so I might not actually be here if we get something booked/organised, which would be a shame, but if I'm around, I will be in a pub with you lot.

ailsa, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 16:21 (fourteen years ago) link

78 is the best of the lot.

The Devil's Avocado (Gukbe), Wednesday, 15 July 2009 16:33 (fourteen years ago) link

Is that the "old" Stereo on Kelvinhaugh Street? Still not been since it reopened, although I walked past it the other week and it looked ace.

a tiny, faltering megaphone (grimly fiendish), Wednesday, 15 July 2009 16:47 (fourteen years ago) link

Sure is. It's really cosy and they have Samuel Smith's cheap and tasty Taddy Lager on tap.

Stew, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 17:17 (fourteen years ago) link

i was at 78 last wednesday for their 'dub and grub' night - place was REALLY busy/crowded

Ward Fowler, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 17:26 (fourteen years ago) link

I am tempted to believe it is better than Mono and Stereo, yes. Also nearer the Clyde Tunnel for taxis home, which makes it a winner in my book. Those wobbly high seats in Stereo are totally rubbish, I was in with Madchen and Stet last week and we were all rather precarious. Mono has gone up a wee bit in my estimation since they started serving real Guinness and not that Sam Smith's shite, and also by comparison to the Note, which was full of smelly metallers.

ailsa, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 17:27 (fourteen years ago) link

The sofa was good, though.

Madchen, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 17:44 (fourteen years ago) link

sofa so good

dr c might like the rec shop in mono?

Ward Fowler, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 17:49 (fourteen years ago) link

Sofa was good, yes, until I had to try to manoeuvre my broken arse out of it (though after six pints, two ibuprofen and two co-codamols, I'd stopped feeling anything the pain by that point)

ailsa, Wednesday, 15 July 2009 18:04 (fourteen years ago) link

Am I to understand there is a meet-up in the works? If I'm about I'll put my social hat on and come along.
