Port-au-Prince?

It’s Haiti, I’m guessing Port-au-Prince, although the Coca Cola van leads me to Mirebalais.

Ummmm.... somewhere in the UK? Or Canada?
― Doctor Casino, Wednesday, 26 August 2020 22:39 (four years ago) link
it's in Europe but not the UK. A well-known city, though not this bit of it.
― Anti-Cop Ponceortium (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Wednesday, 26 August 2020 22:44 (four years ago) link
you've got to wait before you start giving out hints! i just wrote a long post and now it is consigned to history.
i got that it wasn't in the UK. driving on the right and the street signs are wrong.

That is France (couple kissing in public, also that yellow-diamond street sign is unique to France)

Mm I guess it could be Belgium, too. I'd guess Brussels. Looks dingy
― my god, it's full of bugles (flamboyant goon tie included), Thursday, 27 August 2020 01:02 (four years ago) link
I was going to say somewhere out near the peripherique in Paris, it has that vibe. But having googled the upside down triangle sign, it has "cedez le passage" underneath it in France, but not in Belgium, so I'm guessing Brussels. That curved lattice structure to the right should be identifiable.
― Zelda Zonk, Thursday, 27 August 2020 01:13 (four years ago) link
And the apartment block sizes are too small for peripherique Paris, further strengthening the case for Brussels.
― Zelda Zonk, Thursday, 27 August 2020 01:17 (four years ago) link
no more clues but nobody has got it yet
― Anti-Cop Ponceortium (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Thursday, 27 August 2020 07:17 (four years ago) link
Those road signs (red triangle and yellow diamond) are used in many countries I think. This is very thin soup indeed but the serif on the 1 looks fairly Dutch to me!
― Tim, Thursday, 27 August 2020 08:31 (four years ago) link
There's a distinctive structure on the right behind the ramp, looks like a stadium maybe.
― neith moon (ledge), Thursday, 27 August 2020 08:35 (four years ago) link
The dutch priority road ends sign has a striped not solid bar.
― neith moon (ledge), Thursday, 27 August 2020 08:41 (four years ago) link
Lisbon? The bus station is right next to the Sporting Lisbon stadium and it kinda looks like the roof of that just in pic on the right?
― or something, Thursday, 27 August 2020 08:53 (four years ago) link
xp Good one - I didn't even notice that sign hiding at the back there.
― Tim, Thursday, 27 August 2020 08:58 (four years ago) link
The apartments don't feel right for Lisbon, but I'm getting football stadium roof vibes too
― cherry blossom, Thursday, 27 August 2020 09:04 (four years ago) link
Either a stadium or some kind of bridge.
The red bus sign brackets say central / Eastern Europe to me but idk.
― Scampo di tutti i Scampi (ShariVari), Thursday, 27 August 2020 09:12 (four years ago) link
I didn't even notice that sign hiding at the back there.me neither, I was yelling ENHANCE at my computer screen but to no avail

Have just gone down a rabbit hole looking at street sign typefaces of European countries and that 11 looks pretty Germanic to me or maybe middle European
― Zelda Zonk, Thursday, 27 August 2020 10:20 (four years ago) link
Because of the yellow diamond road sign and the design of the apartment blocks, I'm hazarding a guess at the Netherlands, perhaps Rotterdam?

I was thinking Prague but I can't find exactly where it would be.
― Joey Corona (Euler), Thursday, 27 August 2020 10:53 (four years ago) link
Welp, if it's not France then my next guess is Lisbon, only because the paving stones look like an approximation of that city's typical masonry patterns. But idk otherwise, it does look like a glimpse of a Euro megafootball stadium there ya
― my god, it's full of bugles (flamboyant goon tie included), Thursday, 27 August 2020 12:00 (four years ago) link
I dunno, I find it hard to imagine those noticeboards with tattered "take one" strips at the bottom in the bus stops attached to stadium, or what look like pasted-up photocopied flyers/ posters for events - they have more of the feel of a university or hospital or something.
― Tim, Thursday, 27 August 2020 12:19 (four years ago) link
the streetlights
― cherry blossom, Thursday, 27 August 2020 12:36 (four years ago) link

Czech Republic fails the "Ledge Test", as it's become known, by having a striped not solid bar on its priority road ends sign.
― Tim, Thursday, 27 August 2020 12:59 (four years ago) link
Well done Euler, it's Prague. Černý Most Metro Station to be precise.
― Anti-Cop Ponceortium (Camaraderie at Arms Length), Thursday, 27 August 2020 13:00 (four years ago) link
Apparently the "Ledge Test" is flawed
Here are my other photos from Prague 03/04, there is another view of the station immediately after this one, wonder if it would"ve been easier or harder.https://haonowshaokao.com/2015/03/01/prague-2003-2004/
