is that a pool? sign reads something like "stairs could be slippery"?
― Dinsdale, Wednesday, 17 February 2021 19:31 (three years ago) link
Looks like a cable stayed bridge in the first picture's mural, but that led me nowhere.
― bulb after bulb, Wednesday, 17 February 2021 19:37 (three years ago) link
stairs closed
and isn't that an elevated train station?
― rob, Wednesday, 17 February 2021 19:38 (three years ago) link
it's Upham's Corner train station in Boston
― Dinsdale, Wednesday, 17 February 2021 19:55 (three years ago) link
thanks to rob's hint
It's not *technically* a reverse angle, it's around the corner (the cherrypicker is partially obscuring the right side of the mural/ivy from pic 1).
Definitely a smallish train station, the tracks in pic 1 lead into this building.

good work!
The second mural depicts Cabo Verde, the first mural is a depiction of Boston

Almost certainly a college campus with the football stadium the structure in front. Looks like Stanford to me, it certainly has those tall palms along the side of roads bordering big lawns.
― Guayaquil (eephus!), Thursday, 18 February 2021 16:41 (three years ago) link
The red color is right for Stanford too.
― Guayaquil (eephus!), Thursday, 18 February 2021 16:42 (three years ago) link
I don't think Stanford Stadium is that dumpy, although I don't think I've ever walked next to the stadium.
It looks more like Brazil to me, but I have no feeling for where (I have traveled rather little there).

Not Stanford (only one BMW amid subcompact economy hatchbacks). Looks more tropical.
― Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Thursday, 18 February 2021 16:52 (three years ago) link
What an interesting thing on the left. Looks like a pavilion of some sort, reminds me of Venice Biennale (but isn't that)

Do stadiums in the US have seating go right up like that? Cars don't feel right for US, South America feels a better bet
― cherry blossom, Thursday, 18 February 2021 17:55 (three years ago) link
small colleges sometimes have stadiums like that
― treeship., Thursday, 18 February 2021 17:57 (three years ago) link
Yeah that totally looks like a US college football stadium to me
― Guayaquil (eephus!), Thursday, 18 February 2021 17:58 (three years ago) link
It's hard to shake the idea it's California, but it's also p modest looking for a US campus venue for nearly any sport. Plus I'm struggling to think of an English word ending in -cial that would make sense as the last word of the name of that building on the left, whereas in, say, Spanish "ciencia social" would be logical
― rob, Thursday, 18 February 2021 18:02 (three years ago) link
yeah I suppose a small liberal arts college could have a dinky entrance like that
btw "brutalist football stadium" is kind of a fun gis
