chilling at the shack rn, they're playing young galaxy

ciderpress, Saturday, 28 May 2016 02:10 (seven years ago) link

I really like shake shack, especially the Smoke Shack burger and the Chicken Shack. It's gotten to the point where I can't decide between those two and I end up eating both and then regretting it. Also, the best concrete I've had was the Lobster Tail in Cambridge, MA.

Al Moon Faced Poon (Moodles), Saturday, 28 May 2016 02:14 (seven years ago) link

they also have a sweet local burger here called the Lockhart Link Burger where they add a Kreuz Market jalapeno cheese sausage link on top of the burger

Al Moon Faced Poon (Moodles), Saturday, 28 May 2016 02:16 (seven years ago) link

i'm at the cambridge one right now I didn't realize the lobster concrete was an exclusive thing. ive never been interested in trying it

I think McDonald's is tasty too.

socka flocka-jones (man alive), Sunday, 26 June 2016 02:17 (seven years ago) link

their fries could be so much better than they are. especially for what they cost and you only get a little handful.

erry red flag (f. hazel), Sunday, 26 June 2016 02:29 (seven years ago) link

hurting you got too much food, that's on you not the shack.

call all destroyer, Sunday, 26 June 2016 02:31 (seven years ago) link

I shared the fries and the custard though. I only ate like 1/2 an order of fries and 1/3 of
a custard.

never read this thread before; it is great. craving shake shack now. i told the students in my advisory to share a goal for the year with me at the beginning of the school year and explained it did not have to be an academic goal, "for example I have a goal of eating at Shake Shack more this year." i am doing abysmally at this goal tbh.

Shake Shack has breakfast?

IF (Terrorist) Yes, Explain (man alive), Monday, 8 January 2018 16:20 (six years ago) link

Their breakfast sandwiches use the same potato bun as their hamburgers. Not ideal imho

Lots of talk about stock price itt; stock now trading at less than half its peak, slightly below IPO value. Sort of strange because I do feel like it's kind of ubiquitous now, I was in a mall in Scottsdale and I saw one! Maybe people thought it could be much bigger and still profitable and they were just wrong?

I wish they had a large order of fries for people who don't eat burgers and just want fries.

similar phenomenon on west coast with The Habit expanding as the stock price continues to decline

think there will be a huge burger fight when The Habit meets Shake Shack in Denver

There is apparently a counterfeit Shake Shack in Tehran, which is intriguing.

There was a lot of talk about how it was way overvalued when it first started trading and it couldn't hit the growth needed to justify the valuation. Also, just anecdotally, yes, it is ubiquitious now, and it also seems unspecial and rarely super busy the way the old locations used to be. My whole theory about it to begin with (which seems to have proved correct) is that it was the kind of business that needed excitement and scarcity to thrive, like it was this "special treat" thing that people would go out of their way to stand in line for. Once it's everywhere, it loses that excitement, and then it doesn't really offer everyday foods you can eat for lunch at work and not feel like shit after.

Is anyone familiar w/ this place BurgerFi? Visiting family in Michigan and tried it, seems to be a Shack knockoff, similar design scheme (but w logo branded into top bun). Burger was alright. Good fries. They put sprinkles in my daughter's shake which I though was weird.

Biggest + was two veggie burger options (as opposed to the Shack's mere portobello choice) for my kids—a house made patty and one made by Beyond Meat—the pricey but convincing fake meat we sometimes use at home.....
