I'm not actually participating, just using the construct as an excuse/motivator for the activity. My working file already has nearly 11K "words" in it, some of which are #s, symbols, or links.

I did something similar in 2004. I wrote a non-novel narrative of ~75,000 words which I started in early November and finished it up in mid January, using NaNoWriMo as a motivator.
