Were the RAIDERS so hungover from drinking, drugging and f*cking in Mexico that it cost them the SUPERBOWL?

If so, they're my new favorite team ever.

idunno but there was one Raider who was totally scratched at the last second and still no explantion's been given as far as I know - you'd think he'd want to play in the Superbowl.

No, only one goofball did that.

They were outcoached, plain and simple. Gannon had a bad game. That + lack of running game = loss.

Mr. Diamond is correct.

How could Gannon have been so good going into the Super Bowl and yet so bad during the actual Super Bowl? Answer: He was PAID OFF.

The Gannon Dive Theory is VERY REASONABLE. It wouldn't be the first time in sports history. Can't really believe it was all choke with no under the table double dealing.

Only one RAIDER was bounced but there's a lot of buzz out of Tijuana that Raiders were seen all over... especially in the area known as La Zona Norte (aka La Zona Rosa) where legal brothels abound.
This, of course, does not mean that they all missed curfew and were too drained to play right. No reports of Bucs out and about south of the border. Maybe they were a little more focused on the game which led to their total dominance.

Goddam Raiders!

it's almost like the Bucs coach wrote the Raiders playbook himself!

Jon Gruden was Rich Gannon in practice! It's a fact!

The one Raider that went AWOL (an offensive lineman, 1st time Pro-Bowler this year) suffers from manic depression (or a debilitating depression of some sort ) &, last I heard, was under a suicide watch.

It sounds like some of you whiners had money on da Raidahs...

Mr. Diamond (diamond), Monday, 3 February 2003 06:21 (twenty-one years ago) link

Tad nowhere to be seen, so: You cannot mention the word "whiners" and leave out Raider's xtown rivals.

Leee (Leee), Monday, 3 February 2003 07:07 (twenty-one years ago) link

yeah... the Raiders' ProBowl center is supposedly bi-polar. He apparently went South of the Border; got tanked on Tequila (no one is positive if he was combining alcohol with his scripts; missed curfew; missed a team meeting and when found, was incoherent. Sounds like every other tourist who visits Tijuana.

The Raiders, as a team, were shit on Superbowl Sunday. Outcoached and outplayed. Two steps too slow. I guess they wore themselves out strutting their stuff all week. Acting like assholes forshadowed their doom. Missing press conferences on media day. Blowing off all kinds of scheduled events.

Oakland Raiders.... a great team to hate.

thirteen years pass...

I think the Raiders are going to be playing in "Carousel" from Logan's Run if they move to Las Vegas.
