Jaysus fucking Christ

He is a good player tho

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 31 January 2005 14:03 (nineteen years ago) link

I mean, if you will pick a fight Souness, you know you're gonna get the sharp end of the stick. WHat did he except SOuness to do, let it flow off his duck-like back? Shame for the Toons, but he can only be a bad influence at Newcastle from now on.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Monday, 31 January 2005 14:03 (nineteen years ago) link

Bellamy exemplifies virtually everything that's wrong with football. I couldn't care less where the creature goes. I'm just pleased that he'll never come anywhere near my club.

Dr. C (Dr. C), Monday, 31 January 2005 14:07 (nineteen years ago) link

We've had van Hooijdonk and di Canio at Celtic, so we know all about having arseholes in the team

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 31 January 2005 14:09 (nineteen years ago) link

Bellamy no doubt has some serious issues with his ego:ability ratio - but the bullying cunt factor of Souness should not be overlooked in the matter.

I'm sure Bellamy's opinion of Souness will endear him to at least part of the Celtic support if he does sign. Celtic need a pacy forward (Henri Camara, apparently Saints bound, wasn't it) and Bellamy The Player might fit the bill - Bellamy The Troublemaking Upstart Egomaniac, however, might upset a tight dressing room.

When we've already got Junhinho attempting to manage his career through the Daily Record we don't really need another highly paid problem.

Onimo (GerryNemo), Monday, 31 January 2005 14:17 (nineteen years ago) link

... maybe the presence of John Hartson in the same dressing room might mollify the little cunt

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 31 January 2005 14:19 (nineteen years ago) link

Hardly. If Shearer (who practically runs Newcastle United) couldn't sort him what chance Hartson?

Dr. C (Dr. C), Monday, 31 January 2005 14:37 (nineteen years ago) link

But Shearer's a wanker and Big John's a good guy

Dadaismus (Dada), Monday, 31 January 2005 14:37 (nineteen years ago) link

And yound mr o'neil won't stand any bollox either.

Johnney B (Johnney B), Monday, 31 January 2005 14:40 (nineteen years ago) link

finally, a flashy signing!

cozen (Cozen), Monday, 31 January 2005 17:16 (nineteen years ago) link

I really hope the Celtic deal falls through and he has to go to Birmingham anyway, thus making himself unpopular with his new fans before he even gets there.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Monday, 31 January 2005 17:22 (nineteen years ago) link

I met Paul Lambert this afternoon. He refused to comment when my colleague started hassling him for confirmation of the Bellamy rumour, but this may be more to do with the fact that he was trying to quietly take his daughter to her dance class and didn't want random strangers bothering him about his work.

I agree with most of what has been said upthread. He is undoubtedly a very good player, and maybe a perfect out-and-out strike partner for Hartson (leaving Sutton free to play midfield, defence or a third, more free-floating, striking role), but he is a first-class arsehole.

MON's recent signings (Pearson, Juninho, Camara) haven't exactly set the heather on fire, and I'm not as sure about his ability to calm unruly players as some seem to be. I will therefore sit firmly atop my fence until he puts pen to paper and does something useful, or stupid, as may be.

(Add Ian Wright to the list of egomaniacal arseholes at Celtic)

Aye, classic that was - only trained twice a week as he had a tv show to do in London. 100% commitment.

Viduka took the biscuit (and all the cakes and pies) though, for refusing to play the second half in a game we were losing to a diddy team.

Not quite in the same league as those mentioned but big Ramon Vega had a habit of referring to himself in the third person, it was only being reminded that he was shite every 5 minutes that kept his feet on the ground (until he decided to leave for a 'more ambitious' club).

Onimo (GerryNemo), Monday, 31 January 2005 18:21 (nineteen years ago) link

I related a cracking story I once heard about Ramon Vega here. He was a bit of a wank, wasn't he?

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 31 January 2005 18:34 (nineteen years ago) link

two months pass...
Yeah, I liked that. I wonder if all the Celtic fans going "fuck" upthread are still saying that after Bellamy has almost single-handedly saved Celtic's season (and not been a total arsehole, well, not much)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 25 April 2005 19:58 (nineteen years ago) link

"I am Craig Bellamy and I don't sign for s*** football clubs"

l....like this!

charltonlido (gareth), Monday, 25 April 2005 20:29 (nineteen years ago) link

Heard at the Scottish Cup semifinal a couple of weeks ago:

"There's only one Craig Bellamy
One Craig Bellamy
Like me and you
He hates Souness too
We're walking in a Bellamy wonderland".

The only thing he's done up here to attract attention is to be accused of beating someone up in Glasgow. Except that it failed to occur to his accuser to check and see if Bellamy was even in Glasgow at the time of the alleged incident (he wasn't, he was in a hotel in Inverness the night before a match up there).

His goal against Rangers yesterday was the best goal he's scored since the one he scored against Dundee Utd last week.

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 25 April 2005 21:04 (nineteen years ago) link

Are they available on that there interweb for those of us in meeting all day on Sunday?

Dave B (daveb), Monday, 25 April 2005 21:25 (nineteen years ago) link

When I said Dundee Utd, I meant Aberdeen. He scored two crackers against Dundee Utd a couple of weeks before that, but some of my post seems to have been eaten.

(I am looking for non-paying ways of seeing them on teh interweb)

ailsa (ailsa), Monday, 25 April 2005 21:28 (nineteen years ago) link

Scottish rag prints shite about Celtic player on morning of Old Firm game non shocker. The same paper once gave a full front page (again on the morning of an Old Firm match) to Reggie Blinker picking up a £40 fixed penalty speeding fine. The story can be filed alongside the players pissing on a door scandal, and the "THUGS AND THIEVES" lies that cost the Daily Record editor his job.

Craig Bellamy is working his socks off at Celtic. He is being kicked upside down in every game, is getting no protection, and keeps coming back for more. He is scoring some sublime goals. So I really don't give a shit if he's giving Shearer a few home truths (though the last paragraph in the article suggests even that isn't true).

Onimo (GerryNemo), Monday, 25 April 2005 22:25 (nineteen years ago) link

he's just a diamond lad really, isn't he gerry?

I've no doubt he's a bit of a prick, my reservations about him were detailed upthread somewhere.
I was merely pointing out that Scottish rags have an uncanny ability to publish a negative Celtic story before every big game.

I wouldn't file Shearer or Souness under "diamond" either...

he came very near your club. right by the goal, it was, if i remember rightly, as he was putting the ball in the back of your net. twice

anyway, £50 on bellers for prem top scorer in 06/07? should be able to get 20-1, right?

-- (688), Thursday, 20 July 2006 09:36 (seventeen years ago) link

The only thing I really know about Bellendy is that he is a Naaridge reject.

Chewshabadoo (Chewshabadoo), Thursday, 20 July 2006 10:09 (seventeen years ago) link

22/1 is currently the best price on bellend to finish top scorer.
