I barely follow the print issues and I've even stopped checking the website. Any particular revelations?

I'll just summarize the WR bits: Winona starts crying at the Strokes gig she attends with Courtney because she decides they're the most amazing band to come across the pike since the Replacements, but backstage tells Julian Casablancas off because he got all snotty about Bono, saying something like "How dare you say shit about Bono?! He's like family!". Courtney is the one who has to calm her down.
If those lickle anecdotes aren't evidence of mentalism, I don't know what is.

That my best friend found herself in the environment of such a show. That Soul Asylum hasn't bowed out with any grace that they could salvage. That Soul Asylum had the support slot to a heinous, heinous band. That Cowboy Mouth exists, and has not been smeared like a firefly by the thumb of a righteous and wrathful god.

Cowboy Mouth, ladies and gentlemen. So Geddy Lee is in this band, then?
Sign that Soul Asylum is really hitting the skids -- a couple of years back they could at least support Matchbox 20. ;-)

As such, I've got no beef with them except perhaps for song recyclage (particularly Jenny Says, but there are others).
I have seen Dash Rip Rock several times and Cowboy Mouth I think twice, but I don't remember any of those shows being situations where they didn't open for someone else, and only a couple times did I actually go to see Dash Rip Rock specifically.
(Sometimes I know it was like "Hey, and look who's opening. Cool." I believe they opened for Drivin' n' Cryin' a couple times. Jeez... I do feel weird around here for being raised on "southern alternative" and jangley guitars in the mid-to-late 80s. IRS and dbs rekkids, muthafuckas! Yes, I did actually see Fetchin' Bones live. And Guadalcanal Diary before they broke up.)
So, it's not an accomplishment that Soul Asylum opened for them, but at least they can laugh, and the dude who looks like Geddy can laugh harder.
