So this is basically Antz to Capote's A Bug's Life?

And the guy playing Capote sounds like Patton Oswalt imitating Bugs Bunny. Argh. So bad.

Haha "there is more to the story than you know" -- than you know from the Oscar-winning film released last year, right?

nate p. (natepatrin), Saturday, 19 August 2006 16:57 (seventeen years ago) link

+ Toby Jones seems (poosibly) closer to capote than PS Hoffman?
+ this doesn't look boring, "Capote" was boring (though "well made").
big+ Daniel Craig is in it

- Bullock is no Keener
big- Paltrow

poosibly?

jed_ (jed), Saturday, 19 August 2006 16:59 (seventeen years ago) link

yeah, the producers here must really be pulling their hair out over this one. but given the payroll on the project, it's clear they have to just swallow their pride and shove it out to sea or else they're looking at millions of dollars wasted (not to say that sort of thing isn't common practice in hollywood - "Benchwarmers," I'm looking in your direction).

but, yeah, shitty timing for them since I'm sure they figured they had a star-studded stone-cold blockbuster on their hands that had a shot at (ahem) the Oscars.

Yeah, except IIRC Antz came out first! D'oh!

To be fair, this Capote movie has an interesting twist:

Under a powerful Mayan curse, snakes are hatched inside a young woman, slowly devouring her from within. Her only chance for survival is a powerful shaman who lives across the border. With only hours to live, she jumps on a train headed for Los Angeles. Unfortunately for the passengers aboard, they are now trapped, soon to be victims of these flesh-eating vipers.
