goes great with a Bloody Mary
I might secretly count Bloody Mary as 'healthy snack' too bcz it is mostly V8?

i sprinkle this shit on everything snack-wise:
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51oPS8WoGyL._SL500_.jpg

you can mix it w/ popcorn (easy on the butter+salt)

but my favorite "healthy snack" is a rice cake w/ cottage cheese on top (the organic stuff is chunkier and less watery) and then sprinkle some DULSE FLAKES on top of that. basicaly fires my three big snack receptors: Salty, Crunchy, Dairy.

take fresh grapes, remove them from the stem, wash them, then put in a tupperware container and throw in the freezer for a few hours-- delicious, sweet, and frosty, just like ice cream but with loads of vitamins and fiber!

banana sliced into "coins" frozen for 15 minutes+ is an exact replica of banana ice cream imo. blend with a little cocoa powder or peanut butter and you're living the good life.

My brother is obsessed with his Yonanas machine, which operates on this principle.

lag∞n, Monday, 16 July 2012 20:20 (eleven years ago) link

I discovered banana trip because I slice into coins so that I don't have a full banana in every smoothie. Banana never *quite* hardens, just turns into this ice cream-like texture. If you blend it it's even creamier. Lovely.

jinx VG! we owe each other some beer. no banana flavouring though.

there was a delicious banana shake i tried to recreate using only bananas but it turned out the secret ingredient was icecream.

yeah it's good! i was thinking of trying that out with these mini orange/clementine/whatever the fuck they are things we have.

i've actually done a not terrible job of cutting out shit like bugles and pringles. i don't eat either of those things anymore. but if i make a few more tweaks over the next week or so my diet should be very good. much better than it was during the dark days.

markers, Saturday, 26 April 2014 21:31 (nine years ago) link

i mostly drink seltzer, some orange juice, and regular water. no more sugary anything when it comes to drinks. no more candy. no desserts. no donuts. muffins! bagels! i've had two power bars in the past 24 hours. but it's much better.

°ㅇ๐ْ ° (gr8080), Wednesday, 28 May 2014 20:33 (nine years ago) link

oh I love almond butter generally

I probably eat it more than peanut butter (which I also love)

I have it on toast, on ricecakes, and if I ever get a batch of apples that aren't quite tart enough for my liking, I dip em in almond butter so that I will finish eating them :)

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 28 May 2014 20:33 (nine years ago) link

i prefer natural peanut butter and almond butter mostly - ie just nuts, no salt or anything.

but if it's pbj time, then I need jif or something salty because unsalted peanut butter isn't right for pbj
