Yeah, I was thinking about the lack of this kind of thread recently. There's a lot of background in the casual racism and sexism in gaming thread and then scattered throughout the various politics and election threads,but not necessarily a central repository to discuss the ascendancy of the deplorables.

I think the difference though it's that with their recognition in the national news media, there's serious cause for concern that they won't just crumble into cheetoh dust when the election's over and get swept beck down into their mothers' basements. Batshit has always been troublingly close to the surface, but now it's normal and accepted and out there.
