Bit of a nothing episode...no real reason for everyone to start talking about Scary Forest Ogre (apart from I guess he will take down PT in the end) and I can't imagine anyone was waiting for Virginia Coady to return...

Yeah I wasn't feeling this - a big dump of exposition really, too many scenes between characters we don't care about and bizarre revivals for characters that had been forgotten and no one wanted back.

SFO (scary forest ogre) comically un-scary but i liked the return of the silent hill vibe! so much sneakin around! spy games, disguises.. and then sarah just decides to wreck shop anyway.

I thought the Helena/Sarah scene was nice, but everything else was DUUUUUUUMB.

ogre is dumb, a dozen instances of people coyly alluding to the secret they're holding is dumb, i am all round a bit bummed at the direction the show's taking.

helena/sarah scene was terrific, yes

mud is possibly the worst liar ever. however she does have the greatest name ever, so it kind of evens out i guess?

maybe the writers really liked that Matthew McConaughey movie

has everyone given up? this week was a return to the good side of ridiculous shenanigans imo, or maybe i was just easily won over by the generous helping of krystal we were gifted

first if all i want to apologize for getting that immortal line from days of heaven wrong, it's "dirt doctor"

second of all i have not been able to watch this which i am a little upset about tbh, i have missed the last two eps and won't get to see them until NEXT sunday at the earliest. then again it will be a 3-hr rock block so i'm not complaining too much.

but by god this season has been some of the laziest, most manufactured non-drama. it's playing out like a fanfic where the author just doesnt know how to end the story so they're digging up old characters for no reason & meandering all over the place. every character is reduced to explaining the plot or crying/yelling for no reason, it all just feels like warmed-over bollocks right now & i've been grudgingly hatewatching the last few tbh

sadly agree, also haven't watched the newest but if I'm still awake after Twin Peaks and The Strain and.. man there's a lot of tv starting back up now

I'm going to watch this week's when my dinner's ready, but I'm not super looking forward to it tbh. Even knowing there's Krystal content.

There's definitely something a little 'final season of Lost' about introducing all of these new characters and themes and locales at the eleventh hour instead of wrapping up everything that came before, but as someone mentioned above...I barely even remember the intricacies of the plot at this point. It's really all about the character interactions for me. Which is why they need to stop dicking around and just get all of the clones and Felix and S and Art and Donnie and Delphine the Rabbit Hole twins together and just let them enjoy one another's company for a few episodes.

Popping in quickly here. My wife and I have seen the first three episodes of season 1. She's not really on board and likely won't ask to watch more. Should I bother trying to convince her, or do we already have a pretty good idea what the show will be like?

Fuck I KNEW Rachel was gonna do that as soon as the eye thing was revealed. I just kept waiting and waiting for it. And then had to mostly cover my face and not watch it.

This season has been brutal, and not in the black-comedy way of past seasons (e.g. The mobsters Helena slaughtered or Donnie accidentally blowing Leekie's brains out)

it was cool to see more Matt Frewer but I kept thinking "head in a bag!"

I just got up to speed by reading the episode synopses on wikipedia, and even though some big things have happened in the last three I don't feel like I need to see them. Looking forward to Saturday night when this is all finally over.

That was such an emotionally satisfying finale. I love how they disposed with all the obviously rubbish villains within the first 15mins or so and just spent the rest of the episode giving us what we've been wanting all along.

So is that it or are there any offshoots planned or anything?

I thought that finished off taht particular narrative quite effectively anyway.

JUst hoping we are going to hear from Tatiana Maslany before too long with as strong a role or set of roles. She is obviously pretty versatile. The ability to play off herself or off the substitute they shoot with is pretty phenomenal.

This is it for television

The merchandising is churning a little, every action/science fiction television show has some sort of comic book spinoff. For the people that buy those things, probably not anyone who actually works on the tv show, just some people writing little stories of other clones.

Even after the credits rolled and they had the little dancing clip with all the different clones, I have this mental disconnect where I know all of the clones are played by one woman, but I still look at them and see different people

Just finally watched the last season of this -- we watched the first 4 in real time, but we were wrapped up in other things when season 5 rolled around. We weren't even sure we needed to watch because we'd gotten a little tired of it by the end of S4. But we got totally sucked back in in a few episodes and overall enjoyed the last season. They labored mightily to try to tie everything together, and the effort showed, but I respected the attempt at coherence. Mostly just loved the characters, as usual. Good show, satisfying ending. It's my favorite Buffy-ish thing since Buffy.

In the end the conspiracy seemed a bit small potatoes compared to what it felt like in S1, but I guess that's a) inevitable when you have several seasons to get hyped for it and b) kinda the point, i.e. the emperor has no clothes?

Agreed this was a really good show w/ lots of loveable characters.

Is it even possible to do a multi-season conspiracy show without the continual drawing-back-the-curtain getting boring or ridiculous?

I see Tatiana Maslany is in Destroyer but have yet to see that.
Hope she is going to have an interesting film career or more well made quirky TV.
