That bottle-green velvet blazer is from the Domsey's clothing warehouse back in the late '90s when you could still buy clothes by the pound in their basement and the store had to have Shabbos goys bc the entire staff were Satmar Hasidim. It was over on Kent or Wythe Street, SO FAR AWAY from any gentrified parts of Wburg that you had to walk for what felt like ages to get there, and my boyfriend wouldn't hold my hand and told me to cover up my shoulders with a shirt so we'd receive fewer death glares. I bought that thing on a hot summer day when velvet was the last thing I wanted, but it's imported from Poland and probably only cost $12 or something, brand new. They had whole racks of them! Wish I'd bought 4 different colors tbrr.

i have a black one but i used to have black, burgundy, and green! oh i miss them like i miss my green buckled elf shoes. and my purple elf shoes. and every piece of clothing i no longer have :-/

Lyfe in the vintage house--everything is irreplaceable.

It's really really heavy velvet, too, like the best draperies, and practically UNCRUSHABLE. Not that thin velveteen stuff you usually find.

Everybody was like, "You're so festive!!" and I was literally wearing a tube skirt the size of a postcard, a white undershirt, cracked and worn motorcycle boots, and that blazer. It does all the work.
