man that interview is actually really solid & appears to be somebody in icp's crew surreptitiously taping bashir interviewing them - they're really awesomely forthright - pretty inspiring tbh

^i've always said this. they are smart, down-to-earth guys who totally understand their place in the world.

i kind of want to interview them myself, but i don't know how the pitch would go. Like call psychopathic and be like "do you want to talk about the fact that hipsters are deconstructing you all day?"

beyond 'the fact' of their transitory meme life there's obviously something there, but it seems like they've bequeathed a culture that thrives without them? like if icp vanished the thing would go on somehow, and some other business would organize, or the juggalos wd self organize rhizomatically

on the contrary, i think they're a cottage industry unto themselves in part BECAUSE they're smart businessmen and know how to merchandise and service their fans. they're like the new Kiss, makeup and all.

and btw i don't really think what they do is that remarkable or unusual, once you look past how crazy the whole ICP thing is. i mean, 311 have a similarly enduring cult and huge annual events, etc., the refugees of the '90s that have survived in this way are always kind of surprising and often horribly uncool.
