No, not Hey Joe but another Hendrix tune: Crosstown Traffic.

tackhead @ leeds in 87 was a stunning gig. gary clail/ams/on-u prior to foetus gig in 88 was the strangest thing i ever saw. i am very chuffed with this news (and its not really that weird considering Little Axe .. which featured them all !)

.. and yes i hard that gary was back in bristol .. yet to see him myself .. but one day i am sure i will bump into him ..

bring on the bass.
onwards. m.e/ireallylovemusic

nine years pass...

feels weird ordering a new tackhead album in 2014.

but given that they all now acknowledge that the major label album sucked the big one, i have high hopes for the new stuff.

and i love how they continue to use the SOL for the cover art.

oh yes ..
this album is good.
all the promise of the early 12" chaos + vocals of bernard fowler.
a cover of david bowies 'i'm afraid of americans', and an 8 minute version of 'stealing' !!!
i am a very happy happy man ..
this is the tackhead album i have wanted for a long long time.

of course, once i sober up, i deserve the right to deny all love of this ..

however, i suspect thats not going to happen as the digital remixes are immense.

sober - ish.

this album is still immense.

best thing i have had stress test the ireallylovemusic soundsystem in a long long time.

yes, fowler is is a massive presence throughout, but the production is far more intense than the major label era material.

three months pass...

I am listening to this now – saw it on Spotify, but never noticed it was new material. Even knowing the Bernard Fowler period, it's weird hearing them do tunes – it's even weirder to hear them do covers of the Ojays and Stevie Wonder.

it's not totally new.

a lot was done as part of a fan funded project a while back.

and yes, its a strange one, but i like it.

makes for a good mix of the bands major label era, and their hard edged material.

Agreed. The Funky President mix by Sherwood w the a Obama samples and Fowler doing a mean JB impression is pretty great. I love these guys.
