Keep in mind that if there are any reissues, they will be done via Prince, and Prince will likely do a lot of overdubbing over lyrics he now consideres improper, for starters.
In other words, start thinking about raiding the cache of the original WB releases while you can -- even if they're quieter and aren't remastered to oughties standards.

Then again, I don't know if Prince has control over his old catalog, or when he will be given his old catalog back.
Rhino/WB would be the folks to talk too -- although, surely, they have tried to get on the Prince reissue wagon years ago, and well we all know how Prince feels about Rhino/WB, so they probably got denied and will always be denied. Who knows? but I'm not holding my breath.

Because of this thread, I put on Sheila E. Romance 1600. This whole record really blurs the line between prince-not-prince and just plain old prince.

I was going to start a thread on the 'Twin City Sound' but I thought this would be a better place to start a master list.
Directly Prince-related:
The New Power Generation, Prince
In the Prince-a-verse:
Appalonia 6Vanity 6The FamilyThe Time
Other bands that have that Twin City funk sound:
The Jets
Other non-twin city bands with the sound:

I think I have it somewhere? Maybe? I'll take a look when I'm home.
I seriously need to double down on evangelizing that A'Me Lorain album. One of the most underrated pop albums of the '80s (with only a handful of mentions on ILM).

I have that Jill Jones album, it's actually pretty easy to find on vinyl, but the CDs are very hard to come by, as it only had one CD pressing in 1988, and it must've been pretty small considering the market for compact discs back then. Anyway, after years of searching I noticed some Minneapolis record store was selling a couple of new(!) copies online for a reasonable price, so I quickly snatched one.
Anyway, it's a great album, possibly the best non-Prince one he produced, I'll see what I can do about sharing the joy...

― a drug by the name of WORLD WITHOUT END (Jon Lewis), Monday, 2 February 2015 17:58 (nine years ago) link
The only complaint I have about the album is that it doesn't include the club mix of "Mia Bocca", the best tune Jill Jones ever made. The album version (which segues straight from the intro) of it is really good too, but the club mix is even better.

Lol, Wikipedia:
The song is commonly misattributed to Prince, due to similarity to his vocal and musical style, as well as the belief that the song's lyrics allude to frequent Prince collaborator Sheila E.[2][3] Ready for the World's Melvin Riley denied any connection with the two artists, stating that the subject of the song was a fictional character. However, the song's backbeat was inspired by the Prince song "Lady Cab Driver."
