this rico love ep is really gross. side-eyeing two of three songs so far is not a good strike rate

thankfully "they don't know" isn't one of the gross ones and it sounds decent

if you ignore like two lyrics (both of which are bleeped out on the radio) it can be fun to pretend that "they don't know" is about another guy

i like the babyface & braxton album.

"heart attack" is so good off that album

it is pretty nice all the way thru. their voices + the production are so soothingly pleasant to listen to that i haven't even really noticed the lyrics yet.

This is good. Take It Back is basically exactly Sade's By My Side tho.

what do we think of TAMAR Braxton's "All the Way Home"?

i'm a big fan, definitely one of the best tracks on a hit-and-miss album

babyface/braxton just SOUNDS so good - just really natural and unforced and obv their voices are a perfect match. it sounds more like the 90s than any 90s throwback but not b/c they're making a point about the 90s but b/c they're old and those are clothes that suit them best. this carries even the 1-2 weaker songs but the other fantastic thing is how indelible some of the hooks are, like "roller coaster", that chorus, just wow. and then lyrically you get something like "i wish"!!!!!

also that new ciara/future duet is just incredible, they sound even more besotted with each other

reverby guitar is a good look for both too

predictably I'm loving this Braxton-Babyface record. "I Wish" has the most devastating lyric I've heard in months: "Please don't have a girl/
Cause you'll give that woman the world"!!!!! Talk about otm.

Not sure I love it yet--there sure is a lot more & Divorce than Love, Marriage--but the highs are pretty high: "I Wish," for sure, and "Where Did We Go Wrong" are both shattering.

oooh, "i wish". parts of it almost recall "this woman's work"

and she wrote it herself! Is it her first solo composition?
