Honestly, "year" should really mean "last 12 months". The idea you "can" talk about an 11.5 month old record in December but not a 1 month old record in January is kind of silly.

That last Vakula comp from a couple of years back was ace

I was disappointed with the KiNK album, felt like a lot of lukewarm gestures in a bunch of aimless dirrections - which is not to say I just want him to keep still and pump out classic KiNK bangers for an hour (ok, I probably do), but the album makes it clear that's what he does best.

Summa Technologae was great, wasn't really feeling the rest of the KiNK album - it's nearly a year old now right?

i ask because my local indie record shop (which tends to only carry serious electronic stuff like aphex or andy stott) got in a copy and i feel like maybe i have to buy it to support

have you talked to them about contacting distributors for more of that kind of stuff? there is a new shop here that also tends to only carry "serious" electronic music. i asked the owner about l.i.e.s. and he ended up getting in touch with whoever distributes their stuff in the states. getting a shipment in tomorrow apparently. he said there were a few other labels included as well. idk it's probably different for whoever but maybe you could mention a label or two and see if they're open to trying it out. i'd love to be able to browse and pick up releases from good mainly-vinyl euro labels in a shop.

groove distribution out of chicago looks good for that sort of thing but idk anything about this game really.
