My rationale for putting Shine a Light number one is that it's...pretty great? The build up to the freak out in the end is very satisfying, the best Jason has ever pulled that approach off in his many attempts in Spiritualized.

I'm sort of surprised that Mary-Anne didn't do better. The live version off of Performance was my favorite song of theirs for a very long time. And Walkin With Jesus always stuck out as a little too poppy. Oh well.

Great poll, Elvis T!

Strange results though -- two-thirds of the #1 votes were for songs that finished outside the top ten. OTOH, there's a sizeable increase in the total number of voters for everything in the top five, so it's hard to claim that there wasn't a clear consensus in the results.

Pretty sure we need more than 20 votes to get any kind of consensus, but I do like that there is a variety of #1 votes.
