when krist novoselic threw his bass guitar into the air at the 1991 mtv music video awards, it came back down and landed on his skull. mr. novoselic's accident opened a bleeding gash on his forehead and caused him to fall to the stage, unable to play the last few bars of nirvana's hit, "lithium."

this is ironic because eight years later he would be on mtv discussing his new job as a representative of the libertarian party, trying to sound smart, when in fact liberatarians are fucking morons, just like mr. novoselic.
