"It just came about," he said recently in his new hometown of Atlanta. "I'm a fool, really, in the studio. I said it on one record. I don't remember what record it was on first. ok i figured out what this is referring to but i always just thought he was saying "yup" in a really obnoxious way.

he is saying yuup

he should have told MTV that when they interviewed him and spelled "yup" with three G's and three H's.

trey songz really has a signature ad-lib?

it's not even really an ad lib, it's more of a throat-clearing sound effect like when jadakiss cackles

"lol :)" is super catchy, i don't really feel like i can resist it getting stuck in my head no matter what i actually think of the song

i mean for as "dumb" as it is, it's a good hook and a pretty smart song to make

i feel like when you call a song "smart" what you really mean is pandering

sure, yeah, but i also mean that it's a song "about" twitter that's not all FOLLOW ME TWITTER TWEET TWEET or w/e that would make people just go "ugh" - instead it uses "twitpic" in a rhyme for a catchy chorus so in essence it's a good little song that feels a bit more "of the moment" and thusly will probably be more successful in the short term than it might have been otherwise

also it's a good song i think because of that little part after he repeats "lol smiley face" - great melody there

if you're saying it's not quite as desperate as the Mistah F.A.B. song then yeah

and yeah that melody at the end of the chorus is definitely what makes the song

my favorite bit is in the beginning, where they splice in 'soulja boy tell'em' and 'gucci!' over the chorus

i know complaining about soulja boy's rapping makes me a nas stan and all but man he really kinda ruins the song. simple dumb raps can be fun but just repeating the title 8 times, rhyming "blackberry" with "halle berry" and then splitting is just annoying.

the worst part about that verse is claiming that Halle Berry is thick
