Is this danceable? Wedding friendly??? I can't rememeber anything but the vocals, horns and cooing in the chorus...

Looking back at Alfred's posts, if someone were to release a "sophisti-pop of the '80s" compilation, I would definitely snap it up. That was some incredibly great music. Robert Palmer was great (at Bryan Ferry levels) when he too was doing "sophisti-pop", but floundered miserably when he attempted to rock out IMO. Speaking of Ferry, he too must be represented in any decent "sophisti-pop" compilation.

That's an understatement, for sure.
I guess I was lucky that VH1 was not part of our standard cable package just yet when this was released
Oh! I wasn't even watching VH1 when this song was first released! I was going by my recollections of what they were playing throughout the early - mid 1990s, back when they had a seemingly limited selection of '80s videos they would play the life out of.

This and "Time and Tide" were the synthetic but fun end of the British jazz-pop movement that started with Everythig But The Girl and Carmel.

omg this youtube comment:
at the risk of sounding classless and believe me I sure can be,,after all I am Irish-Scots,,I do dig this song,,and this woman in particular,,,I give her a 5 on a scale of 10,,,as is typically British,, this stuff is too metrosexual for my tastes,,,but her vocalisation is quite on,,,,I have a lot of their mp3 files

"Breakout" has this amazing ability to erase its sound from my memory moments after listening to it. I like this song but I can never remember a damn thing about it.
