I like it well enough, but yeah, I do miss the maximalism of Galaxy Garden. He really pared things back here, which ends up being a bit dull in places.

It has some nice vibes. Probably good for a summer car drive or hanging out with friends outside.
Lone is like the cool, good version of Tycho. Which is also, in some sense, a criticism!

I really like this but I never heard Galaxy Garden so I should be investigating that. I feel like this album is what I expected and wanted those mediocre Flying Lotus albums to sound like based on all the effusive reviews I read.

not sure i see the relation between lone and flying lotus other than they both (sometimes) make hip hop tempo beats (but so do a million other electronic producers?)

I feel this guy overeggs his widdly synth leads quite often, sometimes ruins a nice groove.

I feel like this record, the last zomby record and the new rustie all left me me a bit cold. More than that, they were disappointing in similar ways, as if I could hear something great about to happen, but it never completely did.

New album Levitate is out now. Strong UK Hardcore vibe, I like it a lot. Definitely an improvement over Reality Testing.
