Because I misread this thread title -- Search: Anime soundtracks? -- and what the hell, I'm waiting for my bread to cool down.

Discussion: Annie: the Musical

Cronk's Not Cronk (Eric H.), Saturday, 12 July 2014 02:35 (nine years ago) link

Pretty sure it's "Easy Street" for me, but "Maybe" is awfully pretty especially when Daddy says "baby."

Cronk's Not Cronk (Eric H.), Saturday, 12 July 2014 02:36 (nine years ago) link

Shit. "Maybe" is so good. But "Tomorrow" really gets me, even though it's corny & overused it's so beautiful & simple & pure

i hate this poll already :)

"Little Girls" kills it too tho, i have big empathy for Miss Hannigan

Daphnis Celesta, Saturday, 12 July 2014 08:53 (nine years ago) link

I voted "Little Girls" but the presence of THE GOD BERNADETTE PETERS made it tough

maura, Sunday, 13 July 2014 04:10 (nine years ago) link

I think it might be 'Little Girls' - lyrics in that are laugh out loud great, and Burnett kills it.

Bought the dvd for $5 at Target today... discovered it was the old FF version but watched it anyway. Mr Veg secretly went off & found a bluray rip in glorious WS on teh torrentz so now I'm watching it a second time :D

Our Alice did this as (I think) her first on-stage performance with a group.

I was able to show her the Jay-Z TOTP performance, she liked it very much

this movie is the reason I will never be a John Huston completist

shoulda polled B'way cast album

son of a lewd monk (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 31 July 2014 16:32 (nine years ago) link

I dunno, "Hard Knock Life" kinda kills. Bought some random used CD once and was secretly thrilled to find that the Broadway cast recording of Annie was inside (featuring the version of "HKL" that Jay-Z sampled). Way into this flick as a kid. I totally need to see it again.

Arby's New Beefgasm With Cheese! (Old Lunch), Thursday, 31 July 2014 16:33 (nine years ago) link

between The Front Page, Health, and this, can anyone compete with Carol Burnett -- not someone who made many movies -- in appearing in some of the least-loved titles of three top American filmmakers?

son of a lewd monk (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 31 July 2014 16:35 (nine years ago) link

Would love the opportunity to see HealtH someday and see where it stands against, say, O.C. & Stiggs.

Arby's New Beefgasm With Cheese! (Old Lunch), Thursday, 31 July 2014 16:39 (nine years ago) link

O.C. & Stiggs is not bad, but I'll save my contrarian energies for Popeye and The Company.

Those are both good! Health is not bad, but nobody talks about/sees it.

son of a lewd monk (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 31 July 2014 17:27 (nine years ago) link

ugh I found OC and Stiggs really tiresome

I didn't vote but iirc 'Tomorrow' was my first ever favourite song and I suppose I have to give it some credit on that basis.
