"Running With Scissors" was the first album I ever bought for myself (with a Strawberries gift card!), so I kind of have to go with "Polka Power."
Love all of these, though (including that Grammy polka with Frankie Yankovic that i've never heard before!)

feel like the polkas are weird al distilled to his essence.
true story: i went to see him in concert in 2010 and he played the most recent polka medley and it brought me near to tears, that band was tearing shit up.
if im voting child memories, tho, "polka your eyes out" the 'humpty dance' break is 5ever. if im voting most likely to remind me of hs, "angry white boy polka".

I've always been partial to "The Alternative Polka"

the answer to this will always be "Hooked On Polkas"

Angry White Boy just edging out Alternative Polka here for me.

Spotify playlist. (Spotify doesn't have the soundtrack album on which "Polkaman" appears. And for some reason it credits "Polkaram!" to 50 Cent, which is . . . awesome.)

How come Rivers didn't want him to do "Buddy Holly"? One would think there would at least be nerd solidarity or something..

From Wikipedia:
"Polkas on 45" evolved from an early polka medley that Yankovic had played when opening for new wave band Missing Persons in 1981.[5] This early version included parts of various new wave songs, including "Jocko Homo" by Devo, "Homosapien" by Pete Shelley, "Sex Junkie" by Plasmatics, "T.V.O.D." by The Normal, "Bad Boys Get Spanked" by The Pretenders, "TV Party" by Black Flag, "Janitor" by Suburban Lawns, and "People Who Died" by Jim Carroll.[19]
That is a polka medley I want to hear!

Alternative Polka for me, it's so fast! And there's some touches in there that still make me laugh, like the 'boink' masking sounds in Closer and the Alanis ululation.
― MaresNest, Wednesday, 16 July 2014 19:41 (nine years ago) link
alternative, partly because it was my first one and also because the jaunty polka takes on morose alt rock/grunge is still endlessly delightful.

This is from season 6, but the Shmenges first appeared in '81. Hard to know who was stealing from who--would like to think SCTV was there first.

alternative because it feels the most subversive to the source material

"The Alternative Polka" because I suspect I still have all the words to every song on Bad Hair Day memorized.

i neglected to vote but i'm glad "Polka Your Eyes Out" got a decent showing even without me. how can you deny a polka medley with "Love Shack," "Enter Sandman," and "Ice Ice Baby" in it?
