Never listened to Cave but the "drone" descriptor makes me wary + only one member appears to have long hair

I almost wrote "heavy" instead of "hard-rock" but decided that leaves the door open to too much distinctly non-rocking sludgy doom/drone stuff that can gtfo & stay there

I really dig the soloing in the last minute of "Hessian", the drumming in the second half of "Face of Oblivion" (but not so much the guitar part), the title track & "Cross the Bridge" in their entirety

I haven't heard anything by them I didn't like, though the early material is a little growing-painy. Amanita/Lapsed/Dilate are my favorite three. Also the recent Record Store Day EPs they did of epic cover versions of other peoples songs are worth a download.

Man, Bardo Pond's self-titled album from 2010 is a fucking masterpiece and has to be one of the greatest American hard rock albums of the past 15 years
