There's Something Going On Right Now: The ILM ITALO poll (Nominations thread)

This is happening!

The rules/guidelines:

- This is a tracks-only poll

- Each person can nominate up to 10 tracks.

- I'm not going to impose any constraints on what is eligible but let's try to stick to what is loosely described in the "Italo disco" Wikipedia article:

These are by the same band (the two tunes are the A and B side of the same single), and I think the proper spelling should be "Hipnosis", with an "i". (I have a CD single version of this where the band name is spelled "Hypnosis", but apparently the original 12" says Hipnosis.)

^This. I like the idea as well but this is my first poll and I'd like to keep it simple. Could somebody else organize it? It could also be a non-ballot poll.

A bit over 5 hours left to nominate.

Two tracks I nominated are not on the list - "Chinese Revenge" by Koto (fwiw the version on the Spotify list sounds like a remake) and "Cosmo Tron" by Laserdance.

I would consider going through the noms and doing it but am super-busy and probably couldn't until Monday or even Tuesday, so... might not be worth it? Though I guess the voting will be at least a week, right?

I just had a look at collaborative playlist creators like http://www.youtubeplaylist.org/ and http://www.b00mbox.com/ but didn't find anything that worked/was vaguely user-friendly.

I always forget "Take a Chance" is a cover because it's perfect, and I heard it before the original, which is... merely quite good.

List doesn't include the Spices and Pepper Men cover (1982) of the Peppers' "Pepper Box" (1974), but then it is apparently French and everything I've clicked on on the discogs list is Italian, so maybe that's why not

Looking through that list of covers and quite a few are terrible, but A.P.O.'s cover of "O Superman" is amazing.

Pepper Box just uses elements rather than being an outright cover though? Belter tune.
