My original vinyl copy of Optical Race is die cut, those coloured bits in the middle are the inner sleeve showing through. Love it.

got worried as i had a few of the old reissues and this excessive border thing was dominant on all of them, however, i recently upgraded all my virgin era cds to the last set of reissues SBM/Virgin era.
and having checked, i am glad to report that they have restored the covers to the originals i.e. no borders.
