Most sympathetic quote in Rolling Stone's July 2015 piece on Mumford & Sons

Couldn't help but wonder if the writer was a bit annoyed with the band and that was reflected in the piece, or if it's all just good fun.

I met him earlier that week in Massachusetts, hours after a news report broke that his wife, actress Carey Mulligan, was pregnant with their first child. As we played basketball, I offered brief congratulations. "For what?" he said, stepping back. "Is that news? I think that's gossip." (He then headed to soundcheck and canceled the interview. He doesn't mention it when we meet again at Bonnaroo.)

You missed my favorite quote: "Everyone changes the way they look over a nine-year period, apart from my dad."

after reading the article, I think you should have included "Titties!"

also what the hell @ this band

"Titties!" should probably have been included, but then again it's sort of represented in the "Time for babe-watch", so a vote for that would count imo.

band is bizarre

was recently struck that the new album has had almost no impact. I did hear one song on WFUV, which I did not actively dislike, unlike every other song I've heard by 'em. but do you think their audience has moved on?

Yeah this latest album got to number one and so on but by the numbers it was a total flop. It's sold about 10% of it's predecessor.

What options did they really have though, people would've grown tired of the terrible wannabe folk-something but they didn't want a new type of terrible folk stuff with more electronic sounds or whatever either (have not really listened to much of it tbh) - probably they cashed in on the momentum they had

can't believe i missed this golden thread when it started

"He looked fucking awesome. He looked like something out of Schindler's List" is an incredible thing to say on any number of levels, not least when you consider it was uttered in front of a professional journalist

also it greatly amuses me that their bass player is named 'ted dwane'

New one is their Pinkerton. They'll come back with the old sound and all will be forgiven. Then in a few more years, everyone will say they loved it.

Haha, is there a thread for that type of album too?

For some reason my colleagues like Mumford & Sons a lot and see it as GREAT BANJO MUSIC and now we're hearing it in the office aaaarhg, if they were really into Keane I'd know what better versions of Keane to play them etc. but I don't really know what the good version of M&S is - anyone?

I have no answer, but I made it into a thread -- Artists who are similar less annoying versions of someone annoying
