If you took the 5 or 6 best songs from this year's and last year's Dear Hunter albums you'd have a fine proggy pop-emo album, alas restraint and concision are categorically not This Guy's Thing. Anyway, the new one has a better hit:miss ratio than last year's due to having fewer corny vaudevillian story-advancing numbers

new Kevin Devine sounds on par with Bubblegum, which is a v good thing

the new joyce manor record is so awesome. pushes their sound in all the right ways

I was just about to say something about that but I didn't want to have four posts in a row lol, I wish it were twice as long but I appreciate the care obviously taken to cram in as many awesome little harmonic details as possible

hearing nate ruess on "angel in the snow" is wild

although none of the pre-release singles have really grabbed me i've only heard great things about the new american football record aka emo revival come full circle

has anyone seen Appleseed Cast live recently? I want to see them but they're opening for Caspian (who seem like pleasantly average post-rock) and I'm not sure if it's worth only catching them in an opening slot.
