Haven't listened in a while, but I love this album. The deadline's not for a few weeks, so I'll do something I never do, actually take it off the shelf so I can pick the right song.

Angry Silence or Glittering Prizes. The former is a bit unusual for them I think - savage guitar and lyrics that are an ultra-bleak version of Madness' "Our House". But the latter Is the archetypal TVPs song. Great record!

Come on. This is a better conversation topic than the god damn election.

Clemenza, what did u pick?

Seriously all killer no filler. I think every one of these songs, save for "Syd Barrett", at one point was my favorite. Going with "Pauline Lewis", almost at random.

What is the best live video footage from 1981-1982 of the TVPS? My cursory search was uneventful. Hell I'd even take a TOTP appearance.

Not sure i've spied video footage from that period. I'm assuming you already have Paisley Shirts and Mini Skirts, which is even earlier but splendid.

This was briefly my favorite album of all time when i was 15 years old. No votes for Geoffrey Ingram (the one that makes you smile) or Silly Girl (the one that makes you cry) is criminal but I'd probably go with the weirdest song here which is Parties in Chelsea.

Song is like a battlezone between the bouncy momentum of a busy social calendar and like creeping inertia/emotional emptiness that the emptiness wins when he hits that hollow suspended chord on the chorus. Exquisite stops and starts

Haven't heard it in years, maybe today is the day. OTOH i hear this band called just Television are also pretty good.

omg i forgot about diary of a young man, that one is devastating.
yeah, glittering prizes and pauline lewis are archetypal and wonderful but kinda surprised that none of the actual best songs got any votes

Hell I'd even take a TOTP appearance.

LOL like they ever got within a billion light years of that!

Again, love this album, and I'd normally agree! The 2016 election was a pretty great conversation topic, though.
